Addendum: This morning's Spring Forward shave

The JR341 and the Karve CB were the hardware choices. I had a relaxing and comfy shave going, until I noticed leaking on my chin. By the end, I had several spots that needed the styptic pencil! What the heck?! Now, maybe all were maskne, acne, or rosacea related, and they were all in the chin and mouth corners areas, so it is possible. Or maybe I need to get used to the CB after using the Overlander and the 921 (which shave similarly to me). But no RCS today. Very happy to say that I did feel refreshed with a cold-water splash after applying the sealant, so all was good again!

In Spring Forward news, I see some US Senators are proposing making DST permanent, no more springing and falling. They cite studies showing increased heart attacks in the Spring and car accidents (I think) in the fall. Whatever, bodies tend not to cope well to these artificial changes, per the Senators. All I know for sure are a couple of things: some states already choose not to observe time changes and there are valid studies showing that making workers go through rotating shift work (ie, moving on a schedule between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts) has long term health consequences, one being shorter lifespan! My BIL works shift work at a paper mill, and the mgmt rotates shifts out of "fairness" so all have to do all shifts and everyone gets time making the shift differential for 3rd.

So, you know, important Congress stuff happening  Angel

Lol, I'm not sure that I can buy into the whole imminent danger excuse. But you know, I think they should abolish it. I just feel, sometimes, politicians forget they can do the small stuff too. You don't need to build it up to be a huge health issue. Just say the daylight savings change is stupid, and annoying, and outdated, and no one wants it anymore. Nuff said! It'll likely pass with 105% of the votes.

Problem solved.

The whole daylight savings time thing wouldn't be missed by me.   When I worked in the factory making bottles and jars. I volunteered to go to night shift,1900-0700.
Primarily in order to move up to be a machine operator. Most of us preferred night shift. One big benefit, is when shopping after work most stores are deserted. But one day a year you can get screwed out of an hour when the clocks are set back. You work 13 hours and get paid for 12.  On the other hand in spring you can work 11 and get paid for 12. Depends on what day your shift lands on.  Vampires are always getting messed with.
I get very annoyed at all the people whining about, "Oh God it's so tough getting up an hour earlier" Shut your pie hole.  There are a literally millions of people that would sell a kidney to live in America. Do you think they would bat an eye, or whine about losing an hour of sleep?
Thus my "curmudgeon" status.

But it's an hour I'll never get back! Boo hoo.

I took that 3rd shift job I mentioned the other day in order to get the differential. More pizza and beer money!

The remnants of the Noble Otter Bare were moved to the scuttle for this morning's shave, but alas, there wasn't enough to get a decent lather. I went ahead with the first pass, looking very thin and reminding my of my canned shave gel days, but is was super slick. This has been my only Noble Otter soap (reminder: no scents!) but I think it is a fantastic soap. That said, I have so many soaps now in the drawer (as well as backups that were on sale) that I don't think I'll replace it until I can get that soap drawer down to just a handful of tubs again. To think about a year ago I had three (3!) soaps, period.

Back to this morning's shave. I decided I didn't want a thin lather, so pulled up the vintage William's from Dave in KY, and after a few swirls, we had a beautiful lather combo!
Other players this morning included the Christopher Bradley Karve, shining nicely thanks to AlanH81, an Israeli Red (7), my JR431 with a Maggard boar (beautiful brush Jayaruh made), and a cool vintagey looking mug from Paul mrdoug that I soaked the boar in, as I didn't want to add water the bowl of the scuttle since the soap remnants were there! As one of my pharmacy techs liked to say, Teamwork makes Dreamwork!

Have a great day! It is, after all, ...

Nothing wrong with a drawer full of soaps. For me, it's variety of scents. For you, it provides a good experiment on how each compares. If you decide to pair down in the future, you'll now know unequivocally which is the best of the best for you. Money and time well spent, I say.

Thanks Paul, you are exactly right! I don't see myself going back to 3 soaps, and I do like the variety of soaps I have. Even if not scented, they are all a little different from each other and make shaving even more fun, if not exactly requiring a strategy to the shave!

That’s Awesome I never tried NO Barre Soap but I’m still on hunt for Wowzers and Kaboom it’s hard to find it lol….

Now I’m a huge B&M Will Carius Hands down great fella and his soaps are amazing works on my skin, among with Noble Otter wish I can put them in 1st place but NO will come second choice among with few others…

I like idea of having few razors that I like that having 10 + lol same goes for soaps I don’t have that many and personally don’t need too most of them were used and I’m happy to have em in rotations…

On another note I like that saying “teamwork makes dreamwork very very True  Happy2

It’s funny as per these quotes I have always said for example judging etc… I like idea of reserving judgment funny enough Robert Bigelow say same phrase as me lol..
