It's a Charlie Brown shaving brush!

And this next task is beyond my abilities, or at least, my tool supply!!

I would like to ask my friends if anyone would like to take on a project for me, cleaning out this socket so I can drop a TGN boar knot into it. I steamed out the stiff sweeper, but even an additional steam didn't soften up the remaining glue.

I am thinking some sort of Dremel tool could do it, but I have never purchased one as up until now, I haven't had a need to do so. I will pay shipping both ways, impose no time limits, and to trade for your labor and expertise! PM me if you want to tackle this. If nothing else, I hope parts made you smile! Personally, I love the Charlie Brown Christmas tree and have almost bought one for the pharmacy, but the ones I've seen for sale are pricey, for a "miserable twig" as the professor in the 1940s The Bishop's Wife says! (By the way, do yourself a favor and watch that movie this season! Cary Gran, David Niven, and Loretta Young, along with some really memorable supporting cast)

I'd be happy to clean it out and send it back to you if you were serious.

Hey, thanks! Yes, I am serious. I really like the look and feel of this handle, and while it's no Trotter Handcrafts, it does hit a vintage vibe for me. I'll box it up and send it your way tomorrow. PM heading to you soonish! Thanks, Dave, you are one of the best on these boards!

Eric, do you own a drill?

If you wanna try this yourself, you could jump on Amazon and buy a "Forster" drill bit.

You can get one for less than you'll pay to ship that Stirling handle around.

Not sure what socket size your handle is... but here's a 24mm for $9:

Safety Disclaimer:
Technically you should only use this bit with a drill press or stationary chuck... that said, I've carefully used them with just a normal hand-held drill in the past. Go slow and it will cleanly clear that epoxy out.

Thanks for the link and helpful tips. I have a hand drill, but no clamp or mounted vice, other than holding it in my hand. That bit would do the job, though. Maybe someday I'll add other tools, but not now!

Holding the handle with my hand is how I do it. Pretty easy as long as you go slow.

The Schick Hydro-magic lived up to its name: Magic! #11 on the blade and still got a fantastically close and comfortable shave. RCS, baby! Right now, I'd have to say this is my bestest injector, which before was the Type M on 5. Is there a challenger throw down? Nah, I have a goldfish brain some days, so after a couple of sleeps, I won't remember any more!! Tongue

After 15 days in transit from the far distant land of Chicago, my Turn N Shave shoat knot arrived yesterday! It had a pleasant 8 day stay in Elk Grove, IL, followed by a day of travel to southern Maine, were it spent 4 days close to the coast. Then a couple of days or so by mule up the interstate 90 miles to Waterville, where it rested from its arduous journey for a couple of days, before making it the final 3 miles to its new home.

It hasn't fully moved in yet. I will plant in firmly tomorrow (I hope. Unless one of us needs more time to rest!). Here is the new home I planned for it.

I hope you found my tale a fun read. Ken at FluffyIndustries kept me smiling last winter with the Tales of Big Momma, Sock Puppet Bob (I hope that's his name!), and AST Barbie. One of the more pleasant aspects of winter were the amusing stories and mild rants. Ken is a gifted yarn spinner, and I know this is but a poor imitation!

Have a great day folks, it's Thursday, and for me it is Friday as I get this weekend off (to spend scrambling to get my certifications done for the yearly license renewal for being an RPh. Yes, I know this comes every year. Goldfish, remember?!)

Great read and the knot looks great in the handle. Hope it works for you. November 2nd I had a razor ordered from Hungary that landed in New York customs and has been languishing there ever since with no update. We're over a week past its scheduled delivery date and more than two weeks of it sitting in New York. Maybe it's being quarantined LOL
