Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
The experiment continues...

Today's shave was with the Parker, and an 11-hour shift wearing a mask. The shave was comfortable, and fairly long lasting, but not as long as my memory had it! Still, an easy shave is preferred over a drama-queen experience!

Tomorrow is the Karve with the B plate. And Sunday I will turn the dial on the Parker up!

Wonderful shave, relaxing, and was talking with my wife before I leave for work. Wait! Work! Drat, now I'm running late!

For yesterday, I turned the dial to 3.5 on the Parker 5 point scale.  Nice, close shave!  Fairly long lasting.
Today, I ejected the old blade while injecting a new one, a Schick. Soap switched to Shannon's Soaps Nil, and the brush was the RR BC Silvertip Plissoft synthetic.

And the dial turned up to......4!!  Exclamation

It seemed a little bit on the edge of drama, but could have been the new blade.  But it was a smooth, mostly comfortable shave with a very fine result for me!  I will keep it here for another shave (tomorrow) and compare. I do believe I am getting a closer shave overall compared to my beloved Karve, and it seems fairly easy and weeper free.

Speaking of the Karve, I decided to take a page out of Dave in KY playbook, and let the Karve have some "me time" at the Spa!  Many thanks to AlanH81 for taking on my Karve.  I am excited to see how it turns out. Alan has done some spectacular work, and my only fear is having to wear sunglasses while shaving to reduce the glare off of the shiny razor!!

Thanks for reading, folks, and have a great day!

My Science Report
By MaineYooper

I have been alternating my razor between the Karve, first with A plate (2 shaves) then B plate, with the Parker Adjustable since Dec 7.  Most shaves with the Parker had the dial set to just above 3 but not quite 3.5. The last 2 shaves, yesterday and today, were at 3.5 and 4, respectively.  The soap and brush were held constant, as was the blade in each razor.

I found that the Parker set to 3 to 3.5 gave a shaving experience similar to shaving with the solid bar A plate, as it feels to my face. However, the longevity of the shave was longer by an hour to 3 hours with the Parker. The solid bar B plate gave as close a shave as 3.5, with the smoothness lasting longer before the whiskers really made themselves known (or felt) to me. I did experience mild irritation/tingle in the hard to shave areas of my face, but the cold water splash takes care of that. No tingle with the Parker, just a nice refreshed feeling.  Today was the Parker setting 4 shave, but the results aren't in and I plan to repeat the shave tomorrow. Different soap and brush, but hey, this isn't rocket surgery!  Tongue

My initial conclusion, subject to someday repeating the experiment or just on whim changing my mind, is that the solid bar B plate shaves me very well and is still my standard of an easy, efficient, and comfy shave, but the Parker feels easier and more comfy, just not as efficient (as measured subjectively by longevity of smoothness I experience throughout the day!).

Summary
I have two great razors and foresee many enjoyable shaves, with a little more variety now than I had last month!

Thank you for reading my report.
