Whoa, nice boat Mike!

Lotta smiles, so it must be fast with that big Merc in the back... or the fishing was good... or both!

Thanks Paul. It goes fast enough, and we have had a lot of family fun with it. My son is one of my fishing buddies, but we don’t usually fish with the whole family around, not yet anyway. The grand kids are too little, and the ladies are more interested in other things.

Bass fishing, now there's something I miss and haven't done in several years......

Let me know if you are ever coming to my neck of the woods.  I have rods and tackle to spare, and this thing ...

Not nearly the biggest thing on the water, but plenty enough to catch fish with.  As you can see, it also operates in Grandpa mode.

my kind of boat (noting the lack of poles!), just fun being out with family and friends! I once heard that it's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot!! (attributed to Steven Wright).

That's a lot of old plates. My dad had a collection in an old garage when I was growing up. I used to stand there and think about what life was like when those were new!

The Details-
Up way too early to go bass fishing, so yesterday’s shave was a quick splash and go shave.

Shave Count (DE: 470 SE: 9 SR: 659)
Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Scuttle: none
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Black Diamond SR
Blade: none
Brush: Graydog Boar
Soap: MWF

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: CC Beta Sample B

The Details-
This mornings shave shave was fantastic. Switched to a 5/8 hollow and scored a very nice BBS for the win!

Today I went with the B sample and hit it heavy. I get different scents when I splash these heavy. The A sample smelled pretty much the same, except the fruity smell got sweeter. Not sickly candy sweet, but sweeter. The B sample, when applied heavy, seemed to have a peach scent come to the top. Not a sweet peach, but like the meat around the pit. I think I still like the A sample better than the B sample. But I would like the A to be a hint less sweet.

I also made time today to hone up the Reynolds razor. It was honed on a Naniwa 1k, 5k, 8k & 12k progression. And then taken to the Black Ark for final polishing. Then wrapped it up with 40 strokes on the leather. This will be shipped out on Monday to have Eric evaluate the edge for me. Life is good!

We were fishing a slot lake, in East TX, and the slot is 14”-21”. Fish caught within the slot have to be released. We fished from 7:00a to 4:30p and caught 15 fish total. We were mostly using watermelon colored soft plastics on a shaky head or whacky rig setup. 10 of the 15 fish were in the slot and would not have helped if we were in a tournament. Thankfully we weren’t. Hope that helps.

Love the story! And I learned, I think, what a slot lake is. Maybe. Will this be on the test?
