Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Torrey SR
Blade: none
Brush: Knothead Boar
Soap: Stirling Scarn

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Stirling Scarn

The Process-
Today the Torrey is on deck, just because. Grabbed the Stirling Scarn to give it another go as well. The 20 second load time whipped up a nice lather and you know I have it dialed in and I’m working it.

Standard stropping and some three pass goodness to deliver a nice BBS ... for the win! It was a great shave. A post shave lather and a matching AS chaser and everything was right as rain!

Home Front-
I haven’t updated this section in a while, guess I’ve been lazy. Got the holidays behind us and it was different. Had good times, but still different. Me, the missus and the rest of the family is healthy so that is a good thing while we wrap up “the year of suck”. For the first time ever, our office closed this week ... awesome!

On the shaving front, I am finally settled in for the long haul. I think about one half of my DEs, brushes and soaps will be moved to the sell/trade pile too. Once those items are purged, I should be all set to just buy replacement soap as needed. Life is good!

The strange words sometimes uttered here are confusing.
Purge? Downsizing? Selling off?  Some sort of slang?  Google translate is of no real help. Not really going to spend much time trying to figure out what you guys are babbling about.

Shave Count (DE: 451 SE: 9 SR: 594)

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla
Splash and go

Shave-
Razor: Torrey SR
Blade: none
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: WSP Gaelic Tweed

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: WSP Gaelic Tweed

The Process-
Fantastic late morning shave! I did change out the brush and soap/AS set. A 20 second load time whipped up a great lather and I got to work.

10 laps on cotton and 40 on leather to get me going. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. I had someone else put the edge on this razor and it delivers a nice shave. I was wanting to try different finishing stones to see where I land. Anyway, three easy passes and I am BBS for the win! With the load time, I also had plenty of lather for a post shave.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! Another great start to the day. Life is good!

Home Front-
Not much to report today. Just doing a few things around the house and enjoying the time off. I have circled back to this soap/AS set with the intention of finishing it off. It is one of my oldest soaps at the moment and I need to start working on downsizing the soaps. When done, I hope to be down to around a 10 soap rotation. To some that’s not many and to others that is excessive. But that gives me nine scents that I want to keep and then MWF. The Fat will be used for aftershaves that don’t have a matching soap. This should give me a lot of flexibility. I think that’s all I have at the moment.

Shave-
Razor: Torrey SR
Blade: none
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: WSP Gaelic Tweed

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: WSP Gaelic Tweed

The Process-
Another great shave today. Man I dig those relaxing late morning shaves. I stayed with a 20 second load time again for this one and that was more than enough.

Today I went with 20 laps on linen and 60 on leather. I am participating in another pass around of a Tony Miller strop. This is plain, but it is 3” (mines a 2 1/2”) and it has a linen strop also. My strop has a cotton secondary strop. It has a nice light draw to the leather and the linen strop is nice. One of these days, I would like to have an Old #2 with linen... one day. Anyway, I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. A very nice three passes and I am BBS for the win! Also got in a post shave lather as well.

I wrapped up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! But you knew that. Life is good!

Home Front-
Speaking of rain, what a nasty, crappy day outside. It’s cold and raining with temps dropping through the day. We had been up in the low 70’s and had to pull blankets off the horses. Now that it’s miserable and the temps are dropping I have to catch a break in the rain to re-blanket them. Grrrrrrr.
