Shave mail from Black Friday.
I must say, Stirling comes up with some truly original names for soap.

Inspired by Gucci Guilty. That and the bath soap were picked out by the missus. She is a big Stirling fan also.

Shave Count (DE: 444 SE: 9 SR: 578)

Pre Shave-
Strop: Tony Miller Plain Vanilla

Razor: Waterville SR
Blade: none
Brush: Antler Boar
Soap: Stirling Scarn

Post Shave-
Post shave lather
AS: Stirling Scarn

Late morning shave on Saturday ... and yup it’s not Barber Shoppe. Not sure how I missed posting this yesterday ... hm. Anyway, this was one of the new scents from Stirling’s Black Friday Sale and I had to smell and try it. I’m not sure how close it is to Savage but it smells good. A little subdued, but nice. You guys know I’m a big Stirling fan, the base has everything you need for a great shave at a reasonable price. I have it dialed in where I can walk by and wink at it and it will lather. My typical 30 second load time whipped up more than enough for my shave and then some.

I also kept my normal shaving routine with this razor and it delivered an outstanding BBS for the win! Very nice! The scent of the soap changed several times during my shave as various scents or combinations came to the top. I found the same with the AS. An initial heavy alcohol scent, that faded quickly. This was followed by more scent changes until it settled in for a really nice dry down. The scent is not “in your face” but I was catching whiffs of it throughout the day. I think I’m digging this one.

Late morning shave today and on deck is another Stirling Black Friday purchase. This is Stirling Alighieri. This one has a really strong scent off the puck and at first I thought this would be too loud for an office place. This scent is also nice, but I think I like the Scarn better. Anyway, I went with my typical load time and again whipped up a really nice lather.

When I started lathering I smelled a note that I smelled in the Scarn. Not sure if that was the base or a shared component. Either way it didn’t last long and I actually lost the soap scent while lathering. Not sure if I went nose blind or if it was the soap but the scent did pop up. It was not as pronounced off the puck though and that’s fine. Same great performance and I am once again BBS for the win! Had enough soap for a post shave as well while I cleaned my shave gear. The soap rinses clean leaving a very nice post shave feel that I have come to expect.

Followed that up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! With this AS I don’t get a heavy alcohol scent. I get a green type of scent. It’s like the green scent you get when clearing vegetation. Not what I was expecting and very similar to the green I get in Glastonbury. Anyway, to my nose it is very pronounced and I’m waiting to see if it fades and the other scents come to the surface upon further dry down. We’ll put this one in the maybe stack. Life is good!

Late morning shave today, because reasons. I did want to mention that the Stirling Alighieri does have a nice scent upon dry down. And I was catching whiffs of it all day yesterday. Today I am back to the Barber Shoppe to put a beat down on it. I have made some progress and I have reached the donut of death. That’s right friends and neighbors, I have a quarter sized hole in the soap. It’s all downhill now.

As I mentioned, a late morning shave and it was nice. This razor has a JNat edge on it and can still deliver a great shave. I am surprised how long I have had this edge and it has held up really well. Some 3 pass shaving goodness happened and I am BBS for the win! That’s how you start a day. Life is good!
