This is getting pretty exciting, even for an outsider who is not even going to be getting one of these razors! Can't wait to see pics and hear shave reports. Congrats, everybody, on the progress.

Won't be me. Although I'm sure I'll have a solid opinion after the 1st shave, I'll refrain for a while. I really, really want to like this razor so I'll run it exclusively for a couple of weeks. It has some very stiff competition in my den, both 3piece and adjustables. It will certainly be entertaining to watch the review thread. Wait...someone has gotta start a review thread! Where is GlazedBoker ? That guy needs to set us up a node!

Every new razor thread, which Gus (GlazedBoker) started, became very popular. Very looking forward to his reviews.

Thanks my friend. I just got confirmation that the package has left St. Paul,MN. Projected delivery time of June 1st. I’m with LOOT as well in that this razor will need a few shaves in before making a full on assessment as its got some horses in front of it. Unless, it blows me out of the water within the first 2 shaves. I haven’t encountered one that’s done that yet. Looking forward to putting this one through its paces.

Not every thread of mine has been a winner. I’ve got more losers than winners. Somehow, I feel like Ulysses S. Grant. Lost quite a few but, wound up winning the whole shebang in the end....

Seriously tho, I’m very tuned in here too!

Just like the gym, I feed off everyone else’s energy! It’s exciting to see these Gents beginning to take delivery of these beautiful instruments.  I’ve watched the process and investment of time, can’t wait to read reviews and see images!

congrats Gents and will there be a GlazedBoker review thread?  Big Grin

I’m looking forward to to comparing this final production model to the prototype I used exclusively for a couple of weeks and seeing how the changes Eric made to this razor compares in feel in hand, balance, efficiency, smoothness and maneuverability.

Two statements Eric made to me stand out to me. One was back shortly after the prototype went back to him and he said setting 8 on the final design will be equal to setting 9 on the prototype increasing efficiency. When I asked him the same question over the phone 30 days ago he said “ no more like setting # 7 on the new one is like # 9 was on the prototype. I’m like ok I’m good with that just hoping the smoothness hasn’t been diminished as that was one of the features of the prototype that stood out. He assured me it hasn’t.
So for me the bar was set pretty high with the prototype and I can’t wait to see if the new Janus lives up to my very high expectations.

I like many am not shaving until it comes on Monday.

36 parts that all have to work in harmony! Not an easy task and I know of at least 2 well known razor makers who ordered a Janus for themselves as they acknowledged this was no simple task.

So I’m saying props to Eric for even taking on this project!

+1 Agreed. Today was my last shave until I see the Janus in hand.
On a side note. I’m assuming that most if not all know of the terrible incident that happened over the past few days in St. Paul and there has been a terrible civil unrest in the area. There could be potential delays in those items getting to the shipper because of this. I don’t know if Eric is shipping in groups as he prepares or has already shipped them all out. All I’m saying is that we might have to show just some patience in light of the chaos & uproar in the region and across the nation. Sad what happened but, it seems that these things bring out the best and  worst in humanity, unfortunately.

My thoughts and prayers to any shave brethren in the area and to Eric & family for the actions that are proceeding with extreme recklessness.,...
