My guess is that the uneven blade gaps would come from drops. A razor that is 50 years old has been dropped at least a couple times.
With time, is it ever possible to have uneven blade gaps like toggle, fatboy?

There’s some progress…the toggle stem is done. This took a while to get done! The programmer/machinist assigned to Janus is working a weird schedule (staggered, shorter, flexible). This wasn’t the case when the shop took on the project. COVID-19 threw a wrench into the works. Onto the toggle knob starting tomorrow 03/30.
The new shipping date is April 24th. We worked on this together considering the reality on the new working hours and mutual agreement that this must be the last reschedule I issue. The machine shop is still open because it is classified essential in Minnesota because they work on parts for medical devices. This means stuff will keep moving forward, although slowly, instead of grinding to a halt. Polishing & passivation takes couple days because the Janus parts will wait to be batched with other customers’ small 316 SST parts.
Keep well and stay safe.
Gents, I picked up the doors this evening. I will be dropping them off on Tuesday for polishing and passivation. And then onto assembly next week.
FYI - the company that made the handbooks agreed to remake them so that the colors match the packaging and are true to the colors in the illustrator file.
Y'all keep safe.
½ of the razors have been assembled. I expect to have ¾ (~38 razors) assembled by 4pm and the rest on Monday 27th.
Realistic date to ship is now Tuesday April 24th. Assembly is slower than we had anticipated - the project is assigned 1 assembly technician who is only working 3hrs/day (1-4) and assembling these for the ‘1st’ time. I will share an accurate count of the fully assembled razors including a photo at ~4:30pm. I will also hang around to answer any questions or chat then.

Here is a photo of the assembly job this afternoon. We have 39 done. 12 more to go.
Assembly of all 51 razors is done. Now onto the ‘red ink dots’ just about the dial knob, at the base of the safety guard and twice on the toggle knob. They are gonna let me in the shop tomorrow to do final inspection and sign them out. In normal times, I would have helped with the assembly. And then onto shipping on Tuesday afternoon/evening. Almost there! Almost there!
They look amazing! Congrats to those who jumped on the original 51. I came THIS close, but backed out at the last minute because I actually preferred the razor without the red paint accents.
I am hoping that some day the Janus Toggle makes its way into general production for the rest of us. In the meantime, it's not like I don't have any razors with which to shave!

Love, peace, and harmony....maybe in the next world.....

New Update
I finished the inspecting all the assemblies this afternoon. 23 razors did not pass – dial knobs are stuck. Excessive amounts of purple Loctite was used and it wicked into the wrong places. I refused to accept and sign for a partial.
So, we came up with a plan to disassemble those razors and clean the parts. I will be present to help with assembly and make sure assembly goes right. The shop is making an exception for a non-employee to be present. I must be present this time around! Three afternoons to carefully disassemble and clean (starting tomorrow) and then another two afternoons to assemble those 23 razors.
It is not lost on me that I'm at the end of the patience runway because of the endless production delays. To those who ordered, I know you are disappointed that the wait has stretched this far. Sincere apologies! I'm terribly embarrassed by these delays.
