I can see that the angle is practically automatic. Just put the flat of the razor just above the blade on your face and it's set! With that much metal on you face, however, how is it for getting up under your nose? Seems as if it might be a bit crowded up there.

This is one of the most common complaints about the Mongoose, the size of the head in areas such as the philtrum. This is where the Cobra razors shine. However, it is not difficult to shave close below the nose by dropping the handle down. This will increase the amount of blade on the skin so care is needed to not cut yourself, but we are all open blade shavers here so it really shouldn't be tough. Blade buff here (I personally find shorter strokes better for SEs in general) and you'll be BBS in no time.

Thanks for taking the time to read through and comment. I really need to start putting my thoughts together on the AlumiGoose. I'm just having so much fun using it that I haven't been in super analytical mode.

I was fortunate to be made aware of a small batch of Aluninum Mongooses on sale prior to the full production run which could be coming in February 2016. I scored the full aluminum razor, both head and handle which they apparently didn't have many of. The full razor cost me $75. The head was 19g and the handle weighs 30g. This 49g total weight is a gram less than my 50g stainless steel Mongoose head only which weighs in at 50g.

This is a very fun razor to use. To me it shaves very similar to my B1 stainless steel, just much lighter. It doesn't feel any more or less aggressive. I just feel like I can whip it all around my face.

I greatly appreciate the longer pins which hold the blade in place. They now go all the way through to the baseplate. I believe this was one of the B3 upgrades. They make it much easier to rinse the blade thoroughly as you can loosen the razor without worrying that the blade will fall out.

As I said, I find this to be a fun razor to use. It makes me feel super strong as the smallest effort can move it clear across my face. It is also a louder razor than its stainless steel counterpart which I attribute to the lower weight of the aluminum. The shiny black anodizing appears to be well done and can even give off a reflection as shown below.

It begins & it's obvious just how mild the OneBlade is. Even though I was only using a Feather Pro, it felt like I loaded up a Super Pro. So much more blade feel on the face than I've been used to these last 3 months. 3+ hours after my shave and my skin still feels a bit sensitive.

I used my mongoose b3 today after 2 weeks with the oneblade and feel the same way as you. Just as close a shave with the goose as the oneblade but my skin is more sensitive also. I really enjoyed the shave though and the feather pro is an awesome blade. By the way,thanks Sharpspine for doing these journals because reading your oneblade journal convinced me to try the oneblade and now it has become my daily driver so thanks again.

Hmmm. It sounds like the OneBlade is almost as efficient while being easier on the face. That's an important consideration for me.

Your insight is a lot more than " little ramblings"---when it comes to shaving you da man
