SHaDE Razor are: Single edge Half a Double Edge blade razors. We all have those razors with broke teeth or we just want to alter something. I had seen this done by some others and came across a Gillette Raised Flat Bottom CHEAP ($20) on the Bay and thought it would be perfect for this alteration. I had already experimented with a cheap Gillette Tech razor and a snapped de does fit these just fine as you'd expect. The clamp points are maintained and hold the blade exactly as they were designed but just hald of it.
WARNING - Picture Heavy Post
So I had some time today to work on the Raised Flat Bottom Gillette with the broken tooth. Just to remind what it looked like when I got it. The seller was kind enough to send the broken tooth in case I want to try and braze it back together but I was going a different route.

So I took it to the bench grinder first to gently knock it down quickly. Then on to some filing work to even things out and get it uniform as well as take off the sharp edges. Then some sanding with wet/dry paper just up to the 2,000 grit that I had on hand. I'm VERY please with how it turned out and imagine this is going to get a Nickel re-plate eventually.
And here she is now maybe the 1st ever Gillette Raised Flat Bottom SE Razor........

Looks great Dave, but I think Yaqi might be contacting you concerning theft of intellectual property on the Tech (and probably stealing your intellectual property on the RFB).  Rolleyes

Thanks Les, but I think Yaqi would need to originate something before they can claim theft  Rolleyes  Let's not have this thread go there Big Grin

If you grab a Cobbled DE chinese head, and do the work, you'll have a SCHaDE.
Sweet enough, but a bit more effective.

I'm a lazy boy, so I took one from China.
