I think they’re excellent value and excellent performers as well. The knots and handles come in various sizes. The smaller knots are great at loading off some of the smaller soap containers like MDC or Le Pere Lucien and lately they’ve been making some nice resin handles too. I saw a new (to me) model in Italian Barber recently, the Galahad-C3 premium boar and I had to get one. In each of the style of boar bristle. Under Cdn$29 too. How can you go wrong. These brushes are very nice. No funky smell snd break in nicely. The blonde has been used 3x and the Badger dyed boar is new unused. And I love the red resin handles.
I was eyeing these up as well! Never used a boar so I’m even more curious now that you hold them in high regard.
That handle looks a little more comfortable to me. But the red one just looks wonderful. Decisions decisions.

I really like the deep red colour. also 'the Semogue brand is painted/screened on instead of the sticker on some of the other brushes and the stylized Semogue is embossed into the bottom. There are a number of other Semogue brushes on IB as part of this drop in various colours as well as horse hair. I have a couple of horse hair brushes - Vie-Long I think and they're good but horse hair doesn't have the backbone I like. I've got to stop looking otherwise one of those butterscotch Owners Club brushes might find its way to me.(01-13-2021, 03:33 PM)Marko Wrote:(01-13-2021, 03:16 AM)AQU Wrote: I was eyeing these up as well! According to email it’s only valid for SOC (Semogue Owner’s Club) range, not every single Semogue brush on their site.
Maybe you added a different brush to your cart...?

Because of boars big splay a 22 acts bigger than a comparable badger but I’d really like more mm’s. The natural hair is sold out but the dyed still shows in stock. Thanks for the heads up!
You might want to try Semogue model 2000. If has more loft at 60mm and a 25mm knot. It’s the biggest Semogue knot in my collection and a great brush. I’ll post some pictures.

The problem with the 2000 is that due to the high loft, the splay is exaggerated, quite a bit. If they would only lower that loft to 52-54mm, then it would eliminate this issue.
This is the only reason why I don't have any Semogue boar brushes in my collection as they all have too much splay.
What a shame, really , as I am Portuguese and would love to have a number of them for my SOTD pics. Oh, well, such is life.
