Oh they will no doubt survive for sure. Wet shaving hobbyists/harry's/DSC won't kill them off, but I would bet they wish they didn't exist.

I don't know if they are, "Beating them," obviously they aren't, but Gillette has lost a TON of business to Harry's and Dollar Shave Club.  I remember reading an article not long ago talking to a former Gillette executive who said, (Not exact words but what I remember) "I have no idea how either of these two got off the ground.  Back in my day we would have bought them out or buried them before they even got started.  Somebody at Gillette fell asleep at the wheel."

Back in that former executives day , the retail
Market landscape favored a giant such as Gillette.
There was no internet and social media wasn't even
A concept and there were no big box stores to speak
Of at least not in the business model as we know it
Today , you see Wal-Mart , Target , Walgreens and
Even Dollar General have absolutely no problem setting
A Harry's shave set or a Bevel gift set on the same
Shelf right next to Gillette's most popular items and at
Half the price and a lot of the big boxers have they own
Rebranded Carts as well as DE blades.
Both Harry's and Dollar Shave club have avenues to
Advertising and getting there name out there that were
Unheard of in the days of that former executive..
