Hey all! I am yearning for warmer weather and started looking at my collection of warmer weather scents. I’ve got a puck of SV Felce Aromatica that I’ve used only a couple times and liked but didn’t feel that glide quite matched some other soaps I liked be like Barrister and Mann for example.

I’ve been just covering the top of the puck with hot water for the time I shower (right in the tin) then loading up.

Is this the way to go at the SV soaps or should I be more aggressive with the hot water or...?

Thanks!

Hmmm I love SV soaps and never bloom. How long are you swirling the brush for and do you have soft or hard water?

Harder water for sure and loading probably about 30 seconds.

Passion4scotch Do you have a Facebook account? If so, PM here and I can suggest further instructions for help.

I do always put some warm/hot water on the SV pucks while showering and prior to my shave. Our tap water in Los Angeles is very hard so I choose to skip it altogether and only heat up our filtered water. Helps my skin avoid feeling sticky/tacky from the hard water minerals. There are some soaps that I find require an adjustment of loading, meaning some formulas can do without as much loading but I find the newest best 4.3 assemble a bit more quickly.

Is your Felce Aromatica the beta 4.0 or the beta 4.3?

Hi, my Felce Aromatica is 4.3 that came in the green metal tin.

And I do not have a FaceBook account... I must be one of the few remaining hermits who doesn't!

Don't feel bad!  I don't have a Facebook account, either.  So, that makes two of us.

SV offers "Usage Advice" on the webpage for Felce Aromatica Beta 4.3 on their site:  felce-aromatica-beta-4-3-reformulated-sapone-da-barba-150g-in-limited-edition

The directions are about half way down the page.  It can get a little sloppy if you're face lathering and following their advice to the letter, but you shouldn't have any shortage of well hydrated, slick lather! I hope this helps! Good luck!

If you aren't getting the slickness, my guess is you under loaded. If you get enough soap loaded it's really slick. With hard pucks it's easy to under load and even though the lather looks decent it's more air than soap.

Thanks guys! I will try to load it like I hate it and see where it goes!

Now, can you send me some warmer weather to suit the scent better?

No shortage of slickness to SV soaps. Especially 4.3 formulas. Don't be afraid of water and load it like you hate it.

Has anybody tried Ale's new Opuntia Beta 4.3?
