Santal Auster New Release Date: March 14

I've already posted this in the soap section but Canadian Beard and Blade has had Santal Auster soap in stock for the past 12 hours or so.  There has been plenty of time for anybody who wanted this soap to get it.  Its listed for CDN$40 which is just over US$30.

I was able to snag a new Soap off the BST, and a backup from the Canadian Blade Co., thanks for posting this as I didn’t know they would be carrying it. Now my eyes are peeled for the Aftershave!

I didn't know that Canadian Beard and Blade / Canadian Blade Co was going to be carrying the soap either. They put up the rest of the Santal Auster lineup (aftershave/toner/salve/edp) a month or so ago and had a pre-order period and the soap wasn't listed so I just assumed they weren't getting any. Last night before I fell asleep I checked their website for anything new or interesting and there it was. I should hope that everyone is happy now as you would have had to have been asleep at the switch repeatedly to have missed out.

Well I got the AS on pre-order but it seems the soap has sold out everywhere I guess checking once a day wasn't often enough. Oh well I probably didn't need anymore soap

...Also, there is another shipment of aftershave, toner, salve and parfum extrait on the way to Top of the Chain, as well, TheHunter, if all else fails

Did I misunderstand that these will be part of the regular line-up eventually, anyway?

Will the Chatillion Lux site get another round of as/toner/salve? I bought the soap from CAD but I'm hoping to get the AS especially in the States.

Santal Auster is back in stock at Top of the Chain! Snagged three Aftershaves to go with my Soaps, as well as the Parfum Extrait! So glad I was able to grab these as I missed out on the first two releases because of Work. WooHoo!!

What is this scent like? Is it similar to anything out there already? Like an AoS type sandalwood or St James of London type sandalwood?

EDIT: I guess what I'm looking for is, in my own caveman terms, is this a cologne type sandalwood fragrance or more earthy? So TOBS vs Proraso kinda question.

The perfume has much more depth to my nose than the soap or post shave products. You are getting sandlewood. Soap base is as solid as they come but not sure the shave is worth $7 more than just the bison/donkey milk/duck fat bases already available for those that are cost per ounce cautious.

Not a Proraso fan by any stretch so I can't help you there as far as its scent.

If you like a straight sandlewood scent go for it. If you want something scent wise that moves the needle the perfume would be needed.

More Proraso. Not cologne type, more real sandalwood type. (talking about the soap)
