What I would love to see from Razorock is
stainless steel HOLLOW handles .

The concept is as "simple" as this :

The hollow handle will be consisting
of three  parts : The top end ( threaded part
that attaches to the razor head ) ,the middle part
and the bottom end.

The top end should be machined from
solid 316L round stock and made in such
way to shrink-fit into the middle part.

The middle part is made of 12 to 13 mm
diameter 316L tubing,with a
wall thickness of 2.5 - 3 mm ,leaving a
7 mm dia. round hollow area .
Middle part can be machined and/or
knurled in order to achieve a gripping
surface for the operators hand.
Length can vary to achieve total
handle length on customer request or
of preset handle lengths
within the range between 75 to 95 mm.

Bottom part acts as a "counterweight"
to the combined weight of the razor head + handle top
part.It can be a "screw-on" ( M8x 1.25 ISO metric thread )
part ,available in different weights within the range of
5 to 15 grams .Thus,the operator can adjust
the counterweight of the razor handle ,to own
preference ,depending on style of shaving and
razor head / blade  used .Less counterweight
moves the center of balance towards the razor head ,
while more counterweight moves the center of the
balance lower on the handle.
It should be made of solid round 316L stock
and can be hollowed out ,for making 
the lower mass pieces .
Sets of three counterweights can be 
offered ,for the operator to choose 
and "trim" his choice .
For example : Standard cw set :5 gr , 10 gr ,15 gr .
Lightweight /Expert shaver cw set : 5 gr, 7 gr ,9 gr .
Heavy / Novice shaver cw set : 11 gr , 13 gr ,15 gr .

Personal opinion : A lot of R&D goes on 
the designing and development of modern 
CNC machined razor heads,while the handles
are mostly being treated as "aesthetically" 
appealing parts and less as parts of functionality.

The razor head holds the blade .
The handle is the connecting link 
between the razor head/blade and the 
operator's hand.Beyond providing 
adequate grip,it can also "color" the 
agility ,efficiency and smoothness of 
a razor. The handle's total weight and it's center
of balance are being the two main important 
variables ,that can drastically alter the 
shaving experience of any given DE razor.

There's a trend from certain razor manufactures 
towards more slim and lightweight razor heads
( history repeats itself : from bulky 
brass razor heads to slim ones and then again 
to bulky ZAMAK/ss razor heads to slim
ss/titanium razor heads ).
Those lightweight razor heads are 
a better match with hollow handles,
than solid ones ,as in combination with 
the latter the razor's center of balance 
moves away from the head ,towards the 
middle of the handle, impacting the precision,
the efficiency and the smoothness of the 
razor head.

RR "Lupo .95" with "Thin-Bar" handle. I really like the "Thin-Bar" handle. Most would consider it a 'travel razor' handle, but I use it as a 'daily driver'.

I have pretty large hands ...
Anything below 13 mm in diameter and
with less than 85 mm length ,it will
just "disappear" into my palm .

I do think that small sized ,solid handles
have their place .But for those with large hands
and lightweight razor heads,the large sized ,
hollow handles are probably the best solution .

Stephanos1920...there was a retired machinist on another forum who makes custom handles. They ran about $95 with a choice of end pieces, i.e., brass, bronze and copper. He also can hollow-out OEM s.s. handles.

Dear brother Rocket_Boy 
I really disdain to continue the 
discussion further about the "B&B" .
But since we 've created ourselves a little 
topic derailment let us finish it here by 
agreeing that the Damn Fine Shave forum 
is indeed a cosy place to be and share 
any thoughts ,opinions,concerns-or even fears-,
knowledge and wisdom ,as also personal 
experiences and stories about shaving and more.
It's still an oasis of free-speech into the 
vast and arid wastelands of " biased by funds " 
cyber world.
A place where any concerns are not "spreading fears" .
Where a personal opinion is not " telling us what to do".
Where creative criticism is not " constantly arguing ".
Where moderation is not insulting to any member's intelligence.

And hopefully a place where any vendor's money have no 
other power than paying the advertising and/or cyber shop fees.

For me, the shave delta between a Wolfman, Carbon, HNS, etc is indeterminate. . I put the GC 84 SB on a favorite handle and relish the results. It would be my recommendation [and the Merkur 34C] as the no brainer economic reach for razor choice. I have others that I love using, but the value on these RR razors is just unparalleled.

You have to be a mathematician 
or engineer of some sort .
Since english is not my mother language 
I had to check what "indeterminate" means ...
Anyway .I couldn't agree more with 
everything that you state.

May be a rather bold statement,
but humble me thinks that those 
stainless razors from Razorock 
did revived or further involved the 
shaving procedure as being a personal 
mental relaxing and physical refreshing 
experience ( or should I say ritual ? ) 
for plenty of men ,young and older.

They surely do shave as most of the 
so-called "high-end" razors do .
Or at least very-very close to ,
for a fraction of the price.

Shaving tools,as the maker honestly 
states for 'em .
Nothing more,nothing less than that.
