I've always admired these rustic chubbies. This version is wenge wood. (I have a bass guitar with a wenge neck that I really love.) The knot is a bit more compact than my other Romeras but exhibits the usual soft tips with plenty of backbone and flow. Tips are already hooking.

As I expected some of the black stain has washed off.  The quality of the wenge is really nice.

Here are a couple of pics- still damp from shampoo and lather.

As expected , why should it be expected that the brush finish should wash off in contact with water? The same thing happened to my Rustic Barber but it's never happened with any other natural wood brushes I've paid good money for.

Only because I've read of others' experience. Perhaps it needs to sit and cure longer before shipping? I agree it is odd behavior, but then the whole Romera buying experience can be odd. I am willing to tolerate the initial potential for the stain running due to the unique design and high quality knots.

It is a beautiful looking brush and despite all the problems with buying from Gustavo, those knots are just so damn good. Enjoy and I hope the finish holds out. I eventually had to put three coats of waterproof yacht varnish on mine before it disintegrated.

Romera's manchurians knots are uber soft! That's a great brush you got there.

Great knots, unreliable workmanship, horrible customer service.

That's been exactly my experience also.

The Second Anniversary knot was excellent. The knots he sold individually afterwards were not close to that one's softness.

OK, I'm very jealous! I have that brush on order and am patiently waiting for it to be completed. May I ask how long you waited? Enjoy it in good health!
