Ouch. Even at the kickstarter price is it still worth it?

Good and honest review. The beauty of the Slim Adjustable is just that, very slim and low profile head.

nope not worth it, Parthenon just buried Rockwell big time, that's what happens when 2 experienced companies get together and bring out great product at an affordable price. I was hoping that Rockwell will pull it out but I guess it didn't happened

I know I might draw a lot of fire over what I am going to say.

The Rex clearly towers over all current production premium razors - as it's an adjustable and it is at a price point which can be considered value considering its complexity in engineering and adjustability and it is full stainless steel CNC machined ! Full marks to Matt to develop a practical doable design for mass production and not chase an elusive hard to make design. Maybe he used the Gibbs as a model to base his two piece design on which is responsible for a robust workable design - but be took that call and today we will have one of his excellent products in the group up.

While I have a lot of respect for Ruds videos and also agree with some of what he said - high head profile and handle heavy - yet I won't dismiss it off till I've tried it myself.

Ruds says it is ok in the fit and finish department but what I saw in his video - it seemed like a great piece of engineering with high tolerances and excellent fit and finish. It looks like a razor I would want to buy ! Maybe team at Rockwell took a couple of wrong decisions and instead of being stubborn over a TTO adjustable - could have settled on a two piece design and perfected it. I don't know what compelled them to stick to the original plans and compromise on the material used to deliver the razor. Maybe it was fear of mass exodus of backers if the TTO design was changed - who knows !

The Parthenon - I am not at all impressed. It's adjustability is a disaster, I don't like it's engineering and it's fit and finish. Feels too flimsy and the adjustability just doens't work. It's hard to get a setting and it gets stuck. The shave quality is ok up to like 4-5 then it gets rough.

So for the model T, I will wait for mine to conclude how it feels and shaves !

I’m confused. Your declaring this with only a shipping label so far if I read correctly?

I would try a Blackbird, Karve E & F, Paradigm 17-4, Charcoal, Timeless, Pils, Wolfman and on first. Adjustability has little to do with ‘towering’ over other premium razors. It just means it’s adjustable.

I agree with your comment and all the razors you mentioned are some of my favorite razors including aTatara. The Rex is an excellent razor but the razor's you mentioned and that I have shave me better. But to each their own there is no best it's what one enjoys for themselves. It is wonderful to have options and to have a different feel each time you shave using a different razor. Let's enjoy it all

I stated unambiguously that it's due to its complexity and engineering of being an adjustable razor. I have the karve (B to F), att all the heads (SB, OC, slants and se), timeless all baseplates , Rockwell 6S/6C, RR ss razors, blackbird and they are damn good shavers.

I've thanked you for saving my 400$ on the Wolfmann as the Karve shaves smoother !

Towering in engineering and tooling is a different aspect I raised and nothing to do with quality of shaves !

It's common to use Kickstarter as a finite crowdfunding tool and then switch over to Indiegogo as a preordering platform while the product is in development.
