After my first shave with one of these yesterday, I was thinking to myself: “I feel bad for any newbie who gets these with their Rockwell and then thinks that all DE blades are like these.”

Like said, I’m going to give these another shot, but the first try did not impress. I’ll also reiterate that if these blades somehow work well for someone else, I’m honestly happy for them. I really wanted to like them, but the promise of that is waning rapidly…

I think some older/vintage razors were designed to be used with thicker blades - anyone with such razor and wishes to volunteer to test these blades?

I did DonnerJack . I tried one in my Old Type, it was just as painful. tried to shim it to see if that helped, no good. Its like they are just sharp enough to cut halfway through the whisker before the remainder is pulled out. They are just sharp enough to get a good "hook" in the whisker to yank it out.

The Derbys and Merks are miles better, even in their pitiful quality.

Sad words indeed, when a Derby is miles better...

Speaking of Derbys, in my current blade-testing kick, I’m hoping to soon also give the new Derby Premiums a try. But I digress (from the purpose of this thread)…

Lol Matt, that bad, huh?

I have several here but I haven't tried it yet. I love the 6s but I am not too excited to try the blades.

The first run was a definite disappointment for me. But you should try one in your Rockwell razor. Maybe it will provide a better experience, if the razor and the blade were somehow designed synergistically.

I remember the other day, I tried a Dorco blade for the first time; I'm not even done with half my face for the first pass and chucked the blade, it was tug galore. Went back to my trusty Polsilvers.. lol.

I'll try it bro, I have a couple here. Rockwell is generous with passing these around.

Ah, Polsilvers are a tough one to beat. Speaking of Dorco, though, I think their new Prime blades are quite decent.

If you try the Rockwell in your Rockwell (or any other razor, for that matter), let us know about your experience.

Really? I didn't know they had a prime version. Like the new Derby's huh? I have a couple of those on the way too.

You got it, amigo
