I can't believe these guys are still here. Interesting concept, crappy workmanship.

I've seen better work in high school shop classes.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

To be fair, they are replacing everyone's kickstarter edition razor for free, with the new upgraded razor.

And this was fast... I just sent off an email to Gareth at Rockwell Razors (yes, we have the same name) and he replied. Here's both mine, and his email:

"Hi Gareth,
When are the new MIM units shipping? I've read two posts on the forum where folks claim they've received their replacement, and are unhappy with it. Someone just posted a photo and it looks like the same Kickstarter razor.
I would like to help put out fires if need be.

And his response:

"Hey Gareth,

No MIM replacements yet! Anything people are posting online are still the Kickstarter edition versions. Not sure where they're getting them at this point, we're not selling them. Anyone unhappy with anything they've received is more than welcome to shoot an email to info@rockwellrazors.com and I'll take care of them. Mind shooting me a link to the thread where you're seeing this stuff?

Thanks for letting me know!

Definitely pulling for Rockwell as I like the concept but some of the GTM strategy has me scratching my head such as the sku activation at WCS but selling without caps? Nonetheless, I think it stand up that they are replacing the kickstarter units and am cautiously optimistic that they will pull the rabbit out of the hat with the next iteration.

I wonder if people are buying from WCS as I saw they had them listed.

WCS is only selling the individual parts excluding the topcap (which is what Rockwell advised all of us vendors to do).

I spoke with Gareth at Rockwell this morning: He's hoping to have the new Rockwell 6S razors available before X-Mas.

Here's a comparative review between the Kickstarter version of the 6S and the new MIM Rockwell 6S:

I'm receiving one to test out and will provide feedback and photos.

Look forward to your thoughts- the Rockwell has come a long way V1-V2 it looks like. Hope that it shaves well as I like the concept.

Completely agree- the pics are night and day both from a finish perspective as well as seemingly a manufacturing tolerance.

If you have a good experience I may have to break down and pick one up!

Great update from Gareth. Looking forward to mine as I placed an order for the new MIM Rockwell. I noticed that they reduced the gap on all the plates which will make the razor more civilized.
