Rockwell 6s, old vs new

I have a question - and maybe OT - but I have a 6S -- and I didn't like the finish. In fact the razor didn't glide at all. Is anyone finding the 6C a little smoother. The razor does its job - but I'm not feeling that lovely glide. If the 6C is smoother - I can splurge for that. Thanks.

I have the 6C in Gun Metal I see a difference in the glide with certain soaps, but other soaps it is the same as the 6S.
