It took me a while to figure it out. I wondered why people had a die in their SOTD pictures. I tried it but found that I’d forget to turn it and would otherwise lose track. I now use the shave with the blade until it no longer seems to do the job method. When I was working I would shave 6x a week so a new blade on Monday made sense but now I’m retired I usually just shave every second day so I will use the blade until I think it needs changing. Probably still around 6 or 7 shaves. Also depends on the brand. Feathers last longer than most other brands.
