Final Thoughts
I enjoyed my final shave with the Konsul this morning. The Konsul is quite an achievement in design, function, and aesthetics. I will certainly miss this very efficient and comfortable razor. I have been able to achieve BBS in 2 passes on the dome. The level of efficiency is remarkable. Having shaved in the morning, last night at bedtime my cheeks were smooth and just the faintest amount of stubble was beginning to be felt on the neck. If I were not getting the razor to the post office, I would not have shaved this morning but waited until evening (my usual shave time).
As I said before, the Razor Emporium soap is a very good soap with excellent slickness. It looks like I was the first to scoop out of the Old School tub. For those down the line, treat yourself to using it at least once. And dig from the tub, as it is softer than the soap in the sample containers.
I am greatly appreciative of the opportunity to try a razor I cannot afford. There is much to admire in the Konsul, and I wish much continued success to Matt and Razor Emporium. Thank you this week of excellent shaves.

REX KONSUL | GILLETTE BLACK | PRORASO | PITRALON
Rex Konsul Razor received. I’m testing the Rex Konsul at the moment and its a awesome shaver. Way better than I expected. I can’t believe how different it is from the rex Ambassador and rex Envoy, both which I didn’t get along with.
I couldn’t wait, got home late but I didn’t care if I shaved the other day. I was going to shave again. Loaded it with Gillette Black and went to work. Put this baby on 5 and see if it’s efficient enough. Check.
Next, I wanted to see if its smooth enough on across the grain and against. Double check. This razor is the real deal, super smooth and you do feel the blade, but feels like a tingle, you know its there but it’s cutting, at 5 it was mowing it down. I left it at 5 across and 3 against the grain. Against the grain was super smooth. Take into account I had a terrible lather from Proraso green cream, I rushed it and it was underhyrated so I added water on my face via sprayer and went to town shaving. One nick my error as I rushed under the lip or it could of been the 2 coffees I had earlier. Smelled all the scents from Rex and they smell nice. I may try Lavender soap next. I will wait until Sunday evening to get more growth and crank it all the way up.
Thank you Rex, Matt and Andrew for the pass-around.. this razor is a Hit in my books right out of the gate. I like how it feels on my face, I can’t describe it but its really easy to control. Love the new handle. Only knock on the razor is way too many machine marks (underside) for a razor at this price. But if it’s about the shave, its as good as any razor out there for daily shaves.
For its first preliminary rushed shave it hit a grandslam. I still am in awe how fast I shaved with it. Under 10 minutes, 3 passes. Dropped the bowl midway, good thing its unbreakable lol.
For people on the fence, just buy it, take my word for it. It’s on my Buy list now. It’s still early but need to 2 more shaves with it and I’ll pass it along.
The Big Question is now how long the Shave will last. I’ll update y’all on Sunday evening. Have agreat and safe weekend My DFS friends. Don’t drink and drive. C-Ya

It’s awesome, one of my favorites now.Very manly scent. I got it through a supplier from Poland.
It has an slight citrus flower scent to it, but is noticeably strongest with the scent of a Forrest, pine tree fragrance. It feels very cool on the face and makes a great aftershave for razor burn relief. I thought Speick old stock was great but this stuff is Elite imo. Try it imo

In Conclusion, my Final Thoughts . . .
I had a total of 3 shaves with the Konsul, but they were spectacular. I definitely would like to make a purchase down the road. Surprisingly enjoyable especially at 6 with a Feather. The feather really shines in this razor. Very smooth and more effective than the blade feel would suggest. It reminds me of Karve Overlander where both razors are deceptively efficient with very little blade feel. I actually think it may be more effective than the Rex but less harsh at least for my skin type.
The shaves lasted 12-14 hrs with 2-3 passes and 1 hybrid touch-up pass. Left me BBS, but the Feather never fails on getting a weeper around mustache area, user error not the razors fault. 1 weeper is not bad in 3 total shaves. This razor is more of a daily driver for my beard type, maybe 2-3 days as well if I max it out.
Thank you andrewjs18and Razor Emporium for giving us the opportunity to try this handsome razor. The grip is absolutely world class, it’s not as grippy as the Ambassador but looks way better imo, I’ll do that trade off… but the grip is more than sufficient. Again my only gripe is the machining on the bottom plate, unacceptable for the price. I would of probably sent it back thinking it’s a defect. My $50 machined Green Cult has less machining marks than this very pricey adjustable. Per performance, the price is justified but looks wise needs to improved upon. This is not harsh criticism, I say it how I see it. I’m sure Matt will not overlooked this and hopefully try to improve on it. Rest of the razor is gorgeous. Very smooth dial and easy to load the blade, Thank you cornbread for the tutorial. I like the fact that it’s American Made and it shows quality. This razor will last more than our lifetime. Its steel so it can get stained if its not dried properly. I highly recommend this razor to my DFS PEEPS! Happy EASTER Everyone!
