Just got home and finally got it in my hands. Now time to decide which number to shave with. Looks and feels great!

I don't have mine yet, but I'm going to start with 3. It's right in the middle so I can decide which way I want to go after the first shave.

The nice thing about adjustable razors is you can change settings on the fly.

I basically took it for a test drive, started with it wide open and worked my way down to 2. Even at the highest setting I found the razor to be very smooth and forgiving. It did not bite me at all. Although it was very efficient. The Rex delivered a great shave. Build quality and craftsmanship are top notch. Knurling on the handle adheres to your fingers. If the first shave was this great, I know it will only get better as I get more familiar with the razor. A big thank you to Matt for the group buy, and a great deal on a great razor.

I just used mine and I can’t believe how efficient it is. I set mine to 2.5 and had a really great shave with a Polsilver. Some buffing in trouble spots and an easy BBS shave. I’ll try the higher settings later but for a first shave, I am very impressed.

REX arrived this afternoon and first shave with it was tonight. Took me a while to get used to the fact that the numbers are stationary and the red dot moves. Kind of makes sense now to have the dot on the top of the adjuster. I did notice the same thing with the numbers as mentioned by Blagoja Rajevski in that the etching looks very delicate and it was hard to see unless tilted at a certain angle. Okay so now I know how to use the razor!

First pass was WTG and I went with setting 3.5. I was surprised at how mild it felt and even more surprised that after the first pass, I already had an almost DFS. Second pass was ATG with setting 2. This gave me a mostly BBS with some minor touch up. Good things learned with my first shave with this razor. It encouraged me to put the blade back in after I rinsed out the razor and get it ready for the second shave on Monday. Because it shaves milder than I expected, I will probably start with 4 or 4.5 and end with a 3. My only problem now is what am I going to do with my Progress and modified Variant?
