Box:

We measured our tolerances based on no soft touch coating. Worked great! Then it got soft touched coated and it got tighter.

We only made 5,000 boxes so these will eventually be collectors items Smile

Ps: first year of gillette, the double ring came in a white cardboard box with no print or even logo on them. 0 exist today. If One emerged it would certainly be considered near priceless.

Thx

Matt

Granted, the box is a bit tough to open but it's definitely a keeper.  I love the look.  To me, it's like stepping back to the mid 1950s when this type of look was popular.  I think it fits in with the whole look of the razor.

Now I'm looking forward to tomorrow's shave.  I was considering starting out at 4 but may dial back on that to see what 2.5 to 3 yields. Smile

I'm waiting until Monday until I get some new soap I want to try out with it. Come to think of it I should probably not do that and use the ones I have as to not change any variables to see what the razor is like. Mikes Natural it is (Even though I really want to use that Wholly Kaw that is coming).

I got 2 new brushes and new soap today, but I decided to try the razor first. I’ll add the soap with the razor tomorrow. I never change more than one thing at a time.

Yep I agree it's a good idea. I'll use things I normally use so I can get a good feel for the razor.

Happy Fathers' Day to me!!    Happy2 Happy2

My postman also came through two days ahead of schedule, and I'll comment in the owners' thread next week.  For now, I'll just say that Mr. Rex looks beautiful out of the box.  Tomorrow morning we rock n roll.

Picked up mine at the PO Box this morning. I’m out of town for the next few days and I’m torn about trying it out with my travel gear. I’m sure I’ll talk myself in to it by tomorrow morning.

Yeah that top piece of the box is a tight tight fit

So how do I open this thing without ripping the box? I just got mine.

edit-got it
It will pull off maybe put a butter knife in it and push it up gently

I opened my box with a Havalon Piranta razor edge knife.  However, I do think a class razor like Mr. Rex deserves a box upgrade.
