- I think this one bothers me a little bit even though the razors performs like a champ, I shaved with it on setting #4 and even though is not so easy to be noticed but one side of the razor blade exposure is more pronounced to the other side. Lets say I shaved on setting #4 and the less aggressive AKA opposite side it had blade gap exposure as if it was set at setting #3.5  It is not a huge deal breaker but I can notice it while shaving even though is minor, I'm speaking of 1/32" difference in blade gap exposure between both safety bars. So it don't come to confusion I'm not speaking of slant effect problem like some other razors have, im speaking of difference in gap exposure between both safety bars.

Well so far these are my thoughts over 1 shave, no matter pros and cons this thing goes on the pedestal next to the Gibbs

I would be very worried if this is indeed the case. The Model T is getting delayed for the very same reasonn of irregular blade alignment issues which made them change their T Bar design.

Almost all the old Gillette adjustables I have exhibit this issue to lesser or more extent.

I can only hope and pray that when my copy arrives which would perhaps be the the best adjustable razor in my stable - not have this issue atleast !! Sad

The Model T had the slant effect from one end of the safety bar to the other, the blade gaps are even on both sides and both safety bars AKA no slant effect but one is more aggressive than the other. One side shaved like on #4 and the other shaved like on #3.5

So you're ok to keep it and have it corrected ?

If it's a manufacturing defect, you might get it changed.

I am very sure about it - Matt will have this resolved.

my guess - I hope the overwhelming response to the group buy and subsequent pressure to deliver so many razors on time didn't let some QA issues creep in which would otherwise not have been present on a well tested and improved design as we've been seeing so far as the razor evolved through initial teething issues. I hope some bad ones didn't get through QA due to these factors.

Blade gap should read .012 inch or .305mm on setting .5 (zero setting). I test it with a feeler gauge. I've already PM'd the member requesting photos.

Thx

Matt

My first shave with the REX was outstanding today. My razor has zero issues from what I can tell. I think this one is a hair better than my B&R Adjustables. The only thing that doesn’t allow me to give it a 10 is the short handle. I like longer handles but I was able to really get a good feel with this short handle. I had my setting on 5 as I like more aggressive razors. I used a once used Voskhod blade and feedback and efficiency were through the roof. The brushed finish is beautiful. I am going to shave with one of my B&R’s next to do an apples to apples comparison but the first shave was extremely impressive for me. I have all of the high end modern razors and my go to lately has been the Karve with F plate and the REX provided a very similar nick free, irritation free extremely close BBS. I found the angle very easy to master and maneuverability was great!
