I’m still waiting too, but I didn’t join until the last day, so I knew most people would get theirs before me. I’m just glad enough people joined that we were able to get such a great deal.

It’s been a pleasure to help with this - the members here of DFS (and admin) are certainly a special group and honestly this experience has left a lasting impression in my mind about the awesomeness of the wet shaving community.

I just had my first shave with it and I thought I'll share some light on it. I did not used my blade of choice because I'm trying out different brand blades, that being said the Gillette Permasharp from India was only good for one shave for me. Hope Matt also reads my opinion:

Pros:

-Beautiful estetics, excellent grip all in all very eye pleasing
- Feels of very high quality, after all it is all SS
- Great machining craftsmanship
- Holding the razor in hands raises zero regrets for the price tag
- It shaves exactly like the Gibbs ( it is crazy efficient, I don't have anything in my arsenal that can outclass the Gibbs and the Rex) Superb surgical instrument, I can see the Rex will perform like a true champion once I put my more desirable blades in it.

Cons: (yes they are some)

- Every time I buy a new razor I like to place it in a warm water with dish soap, let it sit for 10-15 min and lightly pass it with a tooth brush ( rightfully so there was quite a bit burr junk that came out of it). Well looks like the half of the laser etched numbers black die got removed and smudged a around. My only guess would be that the laser etching on the numbers is not deep enough so that's why the black die came off, nothing happened to the red dot though but that one is deep so maybe that's why the red die wasn't affected at all.

- I think this one bothers me a little bit even though the razors performs like a champ, I shaved with it on setting #4 and even though is not so easy to be noticed but one side of the razor blade exposure is more pronounced to the other side. Lets say I shaved on setting #4 and the less aggressive AKA opposite side it had blade gap exposure as if it was set at setting #3.5 It is not a huge deal breaker but I can notice it while shaving even though is minor, I'm speaking of 1/32" difference in blade gap exposure between both safety bars. So it don't come to confusion I'm not speaking of slant effect problem like some other razors have, im speaking of difference in gap exposure between both safety bars.


Well so far these are my thoughts over 1 shave, no matter pros and cons this thing goes on the pedestal next to the Gibbs

Got mine today. Ready for tomorrow’s shave as we go my wife’s grandfather’s memorial at the veterans cemetery. First impressions are good. Feels like a $200 piece of kit. My 4-year-daughter tried it out (minus blade) and she found it quite favorable even though she lamented that the shave wasn’t as close as she’d like.
