You have to admire Erica. Not long ago I remember her first post to my community, a video from her YouTube channel. During the video you could see some of the technical issues she was having you could also see she was having a great time and was a natural in front of the camera. Post after post her knowledge was growing along with her enthusiasm. Other wet shavers noticed her too and started PIFING and sending her some great products. Soon she had a den full of wet shaving gear like she’s been doing this for years.
Recently she took another big step into creating her own brand. Quietly working on her soap creations for months getting everything just right, so on April 23, 2016 Stache SoapWorks was born. Along with a wide variety of Bath Soaps, Beard Balms, Lotions, Shave Soap, Sugar Scrubs and Gift Sets. This brings me to the shaving soap I will be reviewing called George.
I can’t talk about the full size tub do to the fact that I have a 2oz sample size but still it’s a nice plastic cobalt blue tub with a screw on lid. Hand written label on top with the company name and the word George underneath it.
The is amazing citrus scent. Bright orange & grapefruit with a spicy end including a complex blending of notes such as Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Amberwood, Black Peppercorn, Bergamot, Patchouli, Grapefruit, Musk, Orange, Tobacco, Frankincense, Myrrh, Teakwood, Cardamon, Cedar, Leather, Jasmine, Cherry. I find it amazing how fast Erica has picked up the art of blending complex notes like this, hats off to her. This scent filled my den during and after my shave and I’m sure it’s going to do the same for you too.
This Soap was inspired by this George
I had no problems with lathering. I used my Captain Choices bowl and in minutes created a rich creamy lather that was able to hang on my bread and provide great coverage. The slickness and glide provided the ability to go over spots I had missed during my first pass. The post shave feel was also very good.
So a great shave with George from Stache SoapWorks. Erica has this amazing drive which comes over in her videos and in the product she creates. With a crowded field of artisan soap makers, she just might wiggle her way to the top sooner than most people think.
