I got a tub of the Beau Brummel scent, glycerin formula (tallow doesn't like me).
An unfortunate choice, it's mainly cinnamon. I generally don't like any sweetness in soaps, but this is only a bit sweet.
The first time I got a thin lather & some skin irritation, perhaps from the cinnamon. Both problems were alleviated on the second shave by using less soap & more water, it's quite thirsty stuff. Got an excellent shave.

For a while there, the glycerin formula soaps were listed as Discontinued. I contacted James & he said he'd been planning to discontinue them permanently (I guess there hadn't been enough interest since he introduced the tallow line), but he'd since gotten so many questions about it that he was changing his mind. Now they're no longer Discontinued.
It's odd. Every time I use one of these (I have two now, the Beau Brummel--cinnamon--and Kentish Rain--slightly more complex, does smell a bit rainy & green), I think that the lather seems a bit thin, that the slickness disappears too quickly...but then I end up having a fantastic shave. The one I just finished is one of the best I've ever had.
