Recommend me a good 'stache wax

The really cool part is, mid-day, if it starts to "flop", just grab your mustache comb, run it under a bit of water, and it will soften the glue and allow you to reset it!

Just don;t use too much water or you end up combing it right out of the hair...

BadDad, I've been using the glue stick for the past couple days and it holds very well. However, I noticed it leaves some flaky white residue that is visible in my 'stache. Has this ever happened to you? Any other tips? Thanks!

I have not had this issue. My first thought is maybe you aren't combing it through well enough. I apply the glue to freshly washed and oiled moustache, then comb it through with a fine Kent moustache comb. Then I hold it gently in place for about 45 seconds until the glue "sets", and I'm out the door.

If the flakes are appearing after the glue has set and dried, try wetting your moustache comb and running it through again to reduce the amount of glue...

BadDad, Ok thanks. Do you just rub the glue stick on your mustache or scrape some glue off with your fingernail and work it in by hand? I applied it by rubbing it on.

It could be because I bought the el cheapo stick and not Elmer's. The only Elmer's they had was some "Crazy purple that dries clear". I didn't feel like experimenting with some purple glue in my 'stache.

My 'stache can span 8", and when I wanted to make it go perfectly straight out to the sides, ("English Handlebar" style) I couldn't find any wax that worked. The tips always wanted to curl.

Then I learned of the idea of using göt2b glued "Spiking Glue".

It washes out easily when you want it to, but does not fail if there's a light sprinkle of rain. It lasts me for most of a day at, say, an outdoor music festival in August.
When it did fail towards the end of the day, I could dampen it and reshape it into a slight curl making it at least be symmetrical.
It is way cheaper than any purpose-made 'stache wax too.

The difficult part was figuring out that I had to do only one side at a time.

1. Apply some product to one side, and comb it in.
   
2. Starting from the middle, use a hair dryer to dry it while shaping the half-stache with your fingers and working your way out to the tip. At the end, pinch it and hold out straight for maybe 30 seconds while it cools down. No twisting.
   
3. Repeat on opposite side, applying product, combing it in, and drying while shaping.
   

If the very tips persist in curling up or cork-screwing, it may be that there are not enough strands of hair. At least three are needed to not curl. If need be, trim them back with scissors.

Bounder moustache wax from the uk. Great stuff. The only thing that could tame my mo. Now I have a pencil moustache. No need for the wax now.
