Topic: Razors that Love Steep Angle

I have shaved these past 5 days with the Above the Tie H2, utilizing steep angle (really really steep) and it has gotten me the best shaves of my life (specially on the neck). It really feels like shaving with training wheels (almost like cheating), but It gives the easiest BBS on the neck that you can imagine.

Of course this has now triggered my aquisition disorder up a notch and now I would like to know which other razors also have this Steep angle affair. As of now I have the following razors on my buy list due to reading they also love steep angle:

Muhle R41
ATT H1

Question: Any users of the H1, H2 or R41 also love steep angle shaving with them?

The H2 has now replaced my beloved R1, as my primary and daily razor. Same BBS, but even easier.

I found the BBS-1 to have a pretty steep angle and deliver a beautiful shave. It's generally unobtainium though so that probably won't help you right now. Sad

Sure thing! If you can manage to get your hands on one I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Agreed herbert7890 . Another that loves a steep angle but is also made of unobtanium is the Black Mamba. Some of the best, most efficient shaves of my life with the BM, a Feather blade and a steeper angle. Mows through the whiskers.

I still have problems with picturing steep vs shallow. Can someone help me define it?

Is steep with the handle more perpendicular to the floor and shallow is more parallel to the floor? Or do I have it backwards?

That's correct. It refers to the angle between the blade and skin. So tilting the handle up decreases that angle making it shallower and tilting it down does the opposite.

Since Shane won't say it, I'll say it for him. A blackbird also shaves similarly to a bbs1

Get a polished version if you don't want to have both. =)

Yep. I have the brushed and likely would have preferred the polished!

Assuming a north to south stroke:

Handle to the ceiling=shallow blade angle

Handle to the floor=steep blade angle
