I've finally got my RAD under control (really!) and I spent some time writing up a list of Razors I have sold, traded, or given away.  I'm going to paste that list here not to show the world how much money I've wasted on razors, but with the thought that someone may want to discuss one (or more) of them to learn why I let it go from my collection.  The razors are listed in no particular order of preference.

To be fair, there are a few on this list that I wouldn't mind having back, and they were sold to gain funds to buy the next razor.  I will mark those with an asterisk *

At the bottom of this post I will list the razors that have made the cut (pun intended) to currently be in my den.

Interesting List, thanks for posting.

From your TOP DOGS List I have tried most of them and still have a Blackbird Ti (W/More than one plate) and have more than one AD LaFauix (Which I prefer to my Wolfman WR4).
Also, preferences change as you age and your beard also changes.

Very good point, Jay.  Preferences and beard do change over the years.  I've been back into classic wet shaving for about 12 years now.  I'm currently 70 years old.

What are your thoughts on the Yates 921H and Guerillas and why did you let them go?

These are 2 razors I have thought about purchasing but haven’t pulled the trigger.

The Guerrilla was an aluminum one and I have not been happy with any aluminum razor, they are just too light for me.  I would probably like a stainless steel Guerrilla more.

The Yates were a disappointment to me because they are so popular I wanted to like the razor and the H gave me a close shave but the post shave feel left me with that "you chased BBS too much" feeling.  As with all things shaving, it was a case of YMMV (your mileage may vary).

I have not purchased nearly as many razors as you have. I still possess all I have purchased. I also have a collection of straight razors that get hauled out from time to time. The razors I do not enjoy and rarely use are:

Merkur 25C Open Comb
Parker 98R Super Heavyweight
Edwin Jager DE 89 LBL
Muhle R89 Grande
Muhle R41
Van der Hagen/Weishi Adjustable TTO
Van der Hagen TTO regular handle
Above the Tie SE1 AC blade

The razors that get routine use are:
Karve Chris Bradley Brass C, D and E plates
Karve Chris Bradley SS C plate
Timeless Titanium 0.68
Timeless Titanium 0.95

Those used periodically:
Parker 25C open comb
Parker Semi-slant
Parker SoloEdge
Schick Vintage Type L Injector
Van der Hagen/Weishi Long Handled TTO

One type of razor that I have not used since the 1960s is the Gem Single Edge Razor. My dad had one of the Gem G-Bar razors from the 1940s. I never felt the spring closure held the blade tight enough, so when my dad died, I did not attempt to save the razor. 25+ years later, I wish I had saved it along with a couple of Gillette razors. At the time of his death, I was not into traditional wet shaving, so I did not recognize the potential value of his old razors.

I actually had a Merica that I really enjoyed which is what was pushing me to try the 921, but I have also had this experience before and know the disappointing feeling.
