Razorock Lupo

To be clear, I think the Lupo is excellent value - the material, the fit and finish are very, very good at a very reasonable price point.  I won't actually shave with it until tomorrow so I'm hoping the shave is up there too.

I just got it, too. Indiana

I tested my .72 and .95. Used GD PreShave, GD Otium, Omega Evo and fresh wizamets blades.
4 day growth.

Both razors have positive blade exposure and blade feeling. A bit more for .95. .95 has less blade feel than WR1 .94.
They are both efficient razors, you can easily get 3-pass BBS with .72 and 2-pass with .95. 72 is more efficient than GC .84, and Colonial DE.
.95 has similar efficiency as Blackbird and Charcoal LV3.
Both are super comfortable and it is very easy to find angle. One of the smoothest razors in market now.

I got excellent shave without any irritation and get BBS both sides with 3-pass .72 and 2-pass .95.
Looking forward to try them for daily shave.

Polishing is not as good as $300 Wolfman basic polish, but finishing better than over $200 CharcoalGoods and Rocnel Elite.

CK89 thanks for your review. Nice to hear that my experience is not an anomaly. Also interesting to hear less blade feel than the WR1 .94 as I have been curious about the WR1. Razorock certainly made something special I think.

CK89 Thank for your review of your first shave. You and AQU have similar experiences and have built up my excitement for mine if it ever leaves Toronto

I only do not recommend .72 for the people who like no blade or minimum blade feel razors like H&S N75. 
.72 is not a mild razor, it has blade feel and I can call it as a medium aggressive razor. 
And one member found .72 is more aggressive than Lupo DLC. 
I know some friends call Lupo gen1 as a mild razor, but I don't expect they will call .72 as a mild razor.

I cleaned up the lupos last night to get them ready for use. They’re pretty well made although in a side by side comparison with the Wolfman WR1 they’re not a match for fit and finish. That’s to be expected because a large part of the cost of the Wolfman is in the hand finishing. And scarcity vs demand. Next is to see if they shave like a Wolfman although i won’t be able to do a proper comparison because the lupo is based on the WR2 and I don’t have one of those. I think it was IB’s goal to make a nice CNC razor that looks and shaves like a Wolfman at an affordable price point and not to make a cheaper replica. I’d be curious to see what an aftermarket polisher like AlanH81  could do with a lupo.

Ok, I was just going by the appearance. The lupo jogs out to cover the blade tabs and the WR1 does not. Pictures I’ve seen of the WR2 appear to cover tabs.

The WR2 does not cover the blade end tabs. The original Lupo was based on the WR1. It is nothing like the WR2.
