The Game Changer head is off to Asafiev today.
I had a chance to do one last comparison shave this morning with a Timeless (.68 SB with scalloped cap) that just arrived. While the Timeless was smoother, the GC performed admirably in the face of the competition.
At this point, I don't think I'll be investing in a Game Changer given the fact that I have other similar (albeit much more expensive) razors that give me a better shave. Having said that, I have no reservations in recommending it as a top performing SS razor.
Thanks to Joe for providing the opportunity to try the Game Changer!

I think there is some ambiguity about what “Game Changer” really means. Is it the be-all, end-all razor that will satisfy everyone? No, I don’t think that is possible with a single baseplate. Is it one heckuva damn fine CNC 316 SS semi-polished razor for a steal of a price? YES. Look at the change in the market: the buzz has shifted from multi-hundred $ works of art to sub-100 for high-quality CNC razors. Will a Karve outperform it when you find the right baseplate? Maybe, but most people seem to buy at least two plates to zero in. Will the Dart outperform it? Time will tell. Meanwhile, the GC is half the price of either, and very few come up for resale despite the initial sales volume. In that respect, it is truly a Game Changer.

Absolutely agreed. And if the more aggressive .90 baseplate is as efficient as we’re all hoping, it’ll be even more game changing.

Tried it and traded it. Waiting for the .90 base plate if one comes out. I thought it was a really good razor, but got an offer I couldn't refuse.
