About to shave with it this morning. Loaded the same Feather that I have used once each with the Karve E and F plate.

Just my opinion after my shave with the GC this morning. This razor is very similar to the new Mamba to me. I used a Feather and felt like it would be impossible to cut myself with this razor. The GC and the Mamba seem to be geared toward beginners. I got a decent 2.5 pass shave but after coming from the Karve E and F plates, this razor is nowhere close to the efficiency of that razor. I own several Razorock razors including the Baby Smooth titanium, Black Mamba and both SS versions of the Hawk and it seems like the 2 most recent releases, Mamba and GC, are geared toward the very mild side. I have no issues with that as those razors will sell like crazy at those price points and there is a huge market that Joe and company are pointing this toward. Unlike the Mamba, this one will stay in my stable as there are rumors that Joe will be releasing more aggressive plates. Happy shaving to all!!

Those were my thoughts yesterday after the shave. Or those with a light beard. If one is used to the Karve D (E/F upcoming), Paradigm17-4 or a Timeless .95 (type razors) the Mamba and Game Changer feel too mild.

I'm not sure a Feather on its 3rd shave is a reasonable test of a new razor ....

That said, I agree that the GC is not aimed at hobbyists who enjoy "the feel of steel", but I wouldn't characterize it as being geared toward beginners either (though it would certainly work well for that). With a sharp blade, I think it is a solid choice as a daily driver for anyone who just wants a smooth, close, date-night caliber shave without irritation.

I was fortunate enough to snag one last Friday night!  Over the last few years I have moved from DE's to almost exclusively SE injectors with the exception of the mingoose (expensive but great little razor).  I shave daily for work and tend to do no more than 2 passes with some clean up around the lips, chin(s) and nose.  My facial skin is like leather with some sensitivities to some perfumed creams and soaps.   I can grow a full medium thick beard with tough thick whiskers in about two weeks.  With all that said, the first two shaves with the GC have been great!  While I am not a beginner nor a shaving hobbyist, I think the GC hits the sweat spot for me.... perfect for daily shaving.   My plan is to us the GC for a couple of weeks and come back for a full review.

I shaved with my GC today and it was very smooth. I really like the head because it is not thick (tall). After 4 passes with it, I finished with my Cobra Classic to get a BBS finish on my jaw line and neck I used a fresh Iridium Super blade, so I will try a Feather blade next. This is a darn good razor if you don't need much aggressiveness. I will be waiting for the more aggressive plate that Joe said may be forthcoming.

I wish I could find a razor as smooth as the GC with the same aggressiveness as the Cobra. BTW, I consider the Cobra to be mid-aggressive. Just FYI, I hope this is helpful.

More confirmation that this razor is on the mild side. More pressure on RR to deliver the more aggressive plates ASAP....

I would like to see RR come up with a .76 and .87 base plate I believe that will help the ones like me that want the more aggressive approach. I have to agree that the game changer will benefit a beginner or someone with very light beard.

I bought and sold too many razors that were described as “mild but efficient”. To me, if it needs more than 2 passes and touch ups, it’s not efficient. Will not buy until we get more plates

here's to hoping that razorock comes out with a very aggressive base plate that'll rival the ikon tech or muhle r41.

If it is that aggressive, I won't buy it. That's just too much...Been there, done that...
