Sorry, guys, I woke up sick Saturday afternoon and was in bed for 2 days.  I went to the doctor today and I'm feeling much better than I was Saturday and Sunday.  (Thanks for your concern!  Tongue)  I know, you don't care if I was sick, you just want to hear about the razor.  Cool

I paired the RazoRock Game Changer head with a RazoRock HALO titanium handle and a NOS Gillette Super Silver Blade(England, 1970.)  I did a 3-pass shave(WTG, XTG, & XTG/ATG) using Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary shaving soap brought to a wonderful lather by a Shavemac 2-Band Silvertip brush.

I thought finding the correct angle very intuitive with the GC.  This shave early Saturday morning was right around 24 hours after my last shave.  The first pass reduced my whiskers significantly WTG.  I relathered and went XTG.  Again, I could tell that the razor was further reducing the growth.  Finally, one last lather and an XTG/ATG pass.  From my jawline up, I shave straight ATG achieved BBS in this area.  Going against the grain felt very comfortable with the Game Changer, probably more comfortable than a Gillette NEW LC that I ran with for about 4-5 months at one point.  Below the jawline and neck, was more of a hybrid XTG/ATG with some buffing incorporated into this pass.  I don't shoot for BBS here, because after 4-5 hours the whiskers will start growing into my skin.(very unpleasant!)  But, with a little buffing around my neck and under my chin on this 3rd pass, I will call jawline down=DFS+.

I really think that I would need to use this razor every day to maybe every other day to achieve the shave that I'm accustomed to landing on in three passes.*  I would say that blade feel and efficiency(based on one shave,) would be somewhere around 3-4 plate on the Rockwell 6S, which I own.  The GC  does seem a little more efficient than what I expected for the blade feel.  There is some blade feel, but not a lot to my skin.  In my mind, I would reach for the RR Game Changer over Gillette Pre-war Tech, Merkur 34C(my first DE), or EJ89/clone.  I have been using razors more to the ultra efficient end of the scale lately and have been enjoying that end of the spectrum.  That said, I really am thinking that I would love to own the RazoRock Game Changer at this current level of efficiency.  The Game Changer is no slouch!  As I said before, it was a lot more efficient than I initially thought it would be.

The machining and machine finish on this RR GC razor head is pretty impressive to me.  A number of years ago, I supported my family as a machinist, the quality with how this GC is made is not lost on me.  If you look at the top cap carefully, you will see the reflection of the SV 70th Anniversary cap very clearly.  The somewhat white spot looks like soap or haze, maybe?  It's not, that's frosted portion of the cap of the soap tin.  You can even make out some of the letters from the soap tin on the GC solid guard.  It is not technically a "mirror" finish, I guess, as there are some very fine scratches, but it is very close.  It looks really good to me.  <8μin. Ra, maybe?  I'm just eyeballing it, but it looks nice, especially for around $50.

*I showered and grabbed a quick shave before the doctor's appointment today.  56 hours of beard growth.  The RR Game Changer with RR HALO ti handle loaded with the same NOS Gillette Super Silver(2nd use) blade.  This was a quick shave, so Kiss My Face Lavender Shea 4in1 shave cream and the RazoRock BC Silvertip Plissoft brush.  This shave was quick, but not sloppy.  The GC struggled a little bit with the added whisker growth.  It did reduce on each pass, but probably would have required 4 passes to arrive the shave I'm accustomed to achieving.  My whiskers are fairly tough to cut.  Most are red(the ones that aren't gray Big Grin ) like copper and cut about the same as the wire.

I should get another 3-4 shaves in during this week before I ship it to the next lucky fellow.  I'm planning to stick to the same set-up as the first shave, so I can better determine how the Game Changer shaves without any other variables to account for in the shaves.

Thank you, Captainjonny for your kind words!

I managed to get another shave in early this morning. About 16 hrs of beard growth.  RazoRock Game Changer with RazoRock HALO ti handle and the same Gillette Super Silver blade(3). This is the same set-up as the 1st shave including SV 70th Anniversary SS and Shavemac 2-Band Silvertip.  3 pass shave.

There isn't a lot to add except that this is a very efficient razor.  It never feels like it is going to bite, but each pass this morning definitely kept cutting all of the way through.  I have some milder razors in the flock that I can't say the same.  Let me see if I can explain this clearer: in the past with a shave after a short term since the previous, I might grab a milder razor since there isn't much growth.  Most razors in this case would be comfortable, but the Game Changer seems to have resulted in a closer shave while remaining to be comfortable regardless of the fact that it hadn't been 24 hrs since the previous shave.  I could also feel that the Game Changer was continuing to clean up what whisker growth was present for it to attack.  This ended up with a very close shave without any irritation whatsoever.  Let me stress that this is not normally the case for me with a 2nd shave in less than 24 hrs.

I'm glad that I decided to stick with the same shave set-up.  It's working well, so why change anything?  Trust me, that's not necessarily easy for me.  I have a bunch of shave stuff and really enjoy variety!
