I couldn't have (not even close!) said it any better, Scritchnscrub ! I received the BC Silvertip Friday. I have been using only synthetic brushes since April, and this is the fourth keeper. I love the Maggard's 22mm and 24mm synthetics, which were my only brushes going into Summer. After venturing into face lathering, I started reading about BIG synthetics and how enjoyable a big brush is for face lathering. I decided to get the RazoRock Big Bruce. Great brush. This Fall, as winter starts creeping in, I opted to use my scuttle as a brush warmer, and read some posts about the BC Silvertip being such a luxurious feeling brush. Some birthday money arriving helped clinch the deal and I love the soft feel as well as the "stiffer" backbone. The splay is different than the other synthetics. The others can be "pokey" at times, which I assume is just par for the course, being a synthetic. The BC Silvertip is softer in a different way than the Big Bruce or the Maggard brushes, reminding me more of a real badger brush. Only two shaves with this new brush, I see it being reached for frequently, but not exclusively. I enjoy the Big Bruce, and there is something about the Maggard's purple synthetic that just makes me happy!

Great review and happy shaves to you!

Thanks Eric. Which knots are in the Maggard brushes you have - are they the Tuxedo knots?

No, the regular synthetic, or rather, the first synthetic they offered.

I just ordered the Stirling 24mm. Tuxedo Synthetic brush that's on sale for $11.95, along with some shaving soap samples. That brush is just so cool looking, I really like how the handle looks..

Clayton, everything about that brush is a winner for me. The handle looks great and fits my hand perfectly and the knot has soft tips and whips up a beautiful lather. I hope you enjoy the brush as much as I. Happy2

I love the Razorock BC Plissoft. It is my most used brush, great for face lathering. The handle is amazing quality and for the price it is worth checking out for anyone that is even a little curious about this brush. I even prefer it to the regular Plissoft RR.
