after much trial and error, i think i want to upgrade to a higher quality razor. upgrading means a new razor or a better quality/condition razor than what i already have. i like a mild razor. i have vintage gillette tech, superspeed red tip, and blue tip. they are all excellent. i also have a schick
krona, which i like very much. all of these are in fair but usable condition. i have a new merkur 34c and a jagger 89. both excellent. i also have a couple of weishi 9306 and a ying jili tech clone. even this 2.00 razor is ok. i want something that looks good and of high quality. i can spend up to about 110 dollars. the delta echo is appealing looking but it is just a gillette, so i am on the fence. i would like your opinions, suggestions, etc. i use mostly astra, red personna, and voshkod blades. thanks for your opinions and info.

The only upgrade over ur Gillette brass razors would be stainless steel. Since you have budget and u like mild razors then I recommend either the Rockwell 6s that is adjustable or the supply provision single edge that uses injector blades like your krona, they both are good looking razors, in your budget limit, only the supply provision you have to wait since v2 is on its way while the Rockwell is available for purchase, both are adjustable

[Image: 2puqx9e.jpg]What you need is a Gillette super adjustable black beauty in gold. I don't know of any decent collection that doesn't have one. I have a real beauty if you go that way.

The Schick Krona is a DE razor. It does not use injector blades.

But to the OP's question, Blago pretty much nailed it. In that price range, there aren't many options for upgrades over what you already have. You'd have to bump your budget up a bit to get say a Blackbird or ATT. If you like the vintage Gillettes, you could maybe buy a replated Fat Boy or Aristocrat and stay within your budget. Happy hunting!

oh when he said Shick I automatically thought it's an injector razor and that's why I gave the option of the supply provision since it's adjustable, looks good and it's steel. Since he only uses de razors and considering he wants upgrade over brass then steel is the only upgrade to go for and price range wise rockwell is a no brainier. Rockwell can shave from as mild as feather asd2 to as aggressive as merkur future on setting 3.5-4.0 I have tried bunch of razors and kept 8 so far all of them are either brass or ss, the only razor that dethrones my Rockwell in shave quality is my razorock wunderbar slant, I cannot recommend the wunderbar to him because is 130 bucks, very hard to obtain and will be hard to obtain for the next year or so and it is aggressive considering I feel the blade on my face almost like the fatip grande, it's very forgiving and impossible to cut your self but the blade feel on the skin makes it for an aggressive razor. Rockwell will be the razor oh his choice and most likely outlive him and his kids.

That was my first thought as well. You could also consider an Ikon Shavecraft razor.

Oh yeah, forgot about Ikon. Some of those might fit within your budget.

My question is....what is your purpose for "upgrading"? Are you looking for a better shave or a better look?

If you're looking for a better appearance, Delta Echo or Razor Replate would be good options to breath new life into old razors.

If you're looking for a better shave, I would invest in something different, rather than a higher priced version of what you already have. Within your budget, you would be able to try single edge, injectors, shavettes and straights and give a whole new experience a chance.

Just my humble opinion...

I will add one other different one to the list of something different. What about a nice open comb like a Gillette New Short Comb or Long Comb. You could even get one from Delta Echo already refinished.
