The title says it all - I am a big fan of the Dior Homme fragrance series and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation of a soap/cream/aftershave that has a similar scent profile. Specifically, I prefer the Intense version but I enjoy the entire line-up .

Here is the scent description link on basenotes and fragrantica:

Hm. You'd need something with that combination of bergamot/lavender/iris/suede/cacao, and given how singular that is in the fragrance world, I'm not sure any shave soap is going to reproduce quite that. I get a vague family resemblance with Barrister_N_Mann's Night Music, because of the vanilla and iris, but it's an association, not a strong similarity.

FWIW, Dior Homme (especially the original EdT) is among my favorite fragrances, so I'm sympathetic to your search.

I love me some B&M and it pained me to miss out on Night Music --- I read the notes before release and it really got me going that there might be some semblance to DH/DHI

I don't think there is any soap on the market (that I know of anyway) that is similar to Dior Homme.

I suspect the average shaver would find the smell a bit feminine. It's a frag head thing Smile. I enjoy it personally, particularly DHI.

Can't say I care for the original, myself. The ethyl maltol ruins the iris for me. I'm fairly certain that no such soap exists, though.

Barrister_N_Mann The original is iconic. I should say that I respect it more than enjoy it. DHI I enjoy. Unfortunately neither one is particularly wearable to me, except perhaps DHI in specific evening situations.

I wore the original EDT so much over a few years that I sort of burnt out on it. But I'm still very fond of it, and have a lot of respect for its stereotype-busting take on a sophisticated masculine fragrance. It strikes me as suave, classy, and a little bit droll.

Off topic, but of all the DHI flankers, my preference is Dior Homme Partum which has a less prominent Iris note.

I've been very curious to try DH Parfum, but last I looked it wasn't easily available in the States. Has that changed?
