I can get one very good shave using the Feather. The second is okay but not as smooth nor as close as the first.
I still use GEM as well. Yesterday I broke out a new GEM, gave it a couple of palm strops and it matched the Feather for being as smooth and providing as close of a shave. I also believe the unclipped GEM is better than modifying them. I tried clipping the GEM for a while and while this may all be in my head, it never seemed like the shave was as good.

What do you mean...Unclipped Gem.....I'm not sure what you mean.....Noobs huh?

Clipping is shaping the GEM PTFE blade to the shape of the Feather by punching a notch on each side of the blade.

So how are you using the Gem blades in the OB?

Remove the spine on a GEM & insert. The end.

I tried clipping them and found it only inserted further variances due to human error in clipping at the same spot consistently. When I was able to do it right I noticed a decrease in blade performance.

I find the de-spined GEM blade to be the best of all options with the OneBlade currently. Though I have heard to keep my eyes open for some blade developments within the next 12 months.

So maybe I wasn't imagining that modifying the blade by clipping it to lay flat yielded poorer results. Used the GEm again this morning and a very nice, smooth shave. I am going to continue using both blades just for the variety.

Are you requesting a OneBlade YouTube review? Winking

Heck yes :p. I've seen a couple of shaves with it on YouTube, but for some reason it hadn't been reviewed. No idea why since there are plenty of text reviews.

It's not a review but here's a shave video by mantic59.

Saw that this morning, but thanks for posting mate Smile. It was interesting to see how the pivot takes the face's natural curves.

No problem and I'm glad you already saw it. I'm finally on my way home after a vacation so I am still a bit slow. Wink

Hehe after a vacation I feel like a slug. In any case, this was an interesting video. Hopefully more folks see it! You should post it directly on your journal.
