In 2024, years after all of these new custom brushes have been out and sold out for that matter.  Is a Savile Row still in your top brush list?

For me absolutely.

What is it about the brush that you like? Do you think there are any modern brushes that are equivalent?

For me it’s the nicest three band Silvertip I have used lately that comes close to my all time favorite the original Rooney three band heritage , the knot construction is perfect for me that has the right density , backbone , and flow. Face feel is incredible, really soft and cloud like while having the backbone to creates lather easily , these are a good face lathering brush for me! I think the handles are really classy and ergonomic also , I like ivory and porcelain color handles best so I find theirs fantastic.

I have been looking for a good badger brush because I want to begin face lathering. It is the one part of the shave equation that I would be fine with buying just one good one for life and be done. Razors not so much. 

Sounds like a great option and honestly a fair price considering how some other brushes go for upwards of $400. Thanks for the review.

If you use one brush, it will only last you a couple of years. A good stainless or titanium razor could outlive you and your descendants

I have it in green but the knot size and shape are the same. It's a 26mm/53mm and has some roundness to the shape of the knot with good backbone. Won't feel too small or too soft. It's the best of all the manchurian select knots that I have tried. I also have a 24mm Saville Row silvertip but it isn't as good because the knot is too small in my opinion. Doesn't make for as fun or as good lather making.

Both are supposed to be untreated silvertip hair but the manchurian hairs individually will be thicker and have a bit more backbone and tip feel.

I [purchased a 24mm Savile Row silvertip a few years ago. I wanted a 26mm, but they were out of stock. I have quite a few silvertip, Manchurian and 2-band finest brushes. The Savile Row silvertip is the best of all of them. The only brushes that can compete are the Maggard super-high density 2-band knots that have been treated to produce gel-tips. It is may understanding that the Savile Row brushes sold by QED are made by Shavemac. They are exceptional brushes.

I recently decided to treat some of my lesser knots with L'OReal Super Blonde hair bleaching kit. I used it on my horsehair knots. I used it on a pure badger knot. I used it on a best badger knot. I used it on my two-band finest knots. I used it on my Manchurian knot. I even used it on a couple of lesser silvertip knots. There were three silvertip knots that were good enough to avoid the treatment. The Savile Row was one of the few that escaped the treatment. Of course, the Maggard SHD knots did not need the treatment. Now all my brushes are soft enough for me to face lather. Previously, I had only three brushes that I could use for face lathering. The rest were used for bowl lathering due to my sensitive skin.

I was planning to go back and add the 26mm Savile Row brush to my collection. Now I might not need to do so, but I might anyway.
