I feel for you. Thanks for posting, it's a good warning to all of us.

When I wanted a Wolfman I had to get on a waiting list but no money was requested. A few months later I got an email saying my razor was ready. If I still wanted it, send the cash, which I did. That's an ethical way to go.

I've never had a Cobra or King Cobra and never felt the urge for either. If you want that kind of design, the RazorRock Hawk is great. I don't know if they have more stainless steel in stock. I have the aluminum.

The Asylum RX from Bullgoose has a great rep as well. I have the ATT SE1, which I really like. Another good alternative to the Cobra.

And, of course, the Mongoose is supposedly making its way back to Maggards soon, so that's another great option.

First of all, congrats! That is great news.

I do not agree with you that they "told you they would not issue a refund." From their email to you:

Quote:That being said, you can send the Cobra razor in for a full inspection for us to be sure that it is fully functional. However, if the latch is normal and is designed as intended, we will be sending is back, as we do not accept returns on personal care items.

To me, that implies that they will inspect it and, IF THEY AGREE THAT IT IS DEFECTIVE, they will refund/replace/whatever. The word "however" is the key. That means that IF THEY DO NOT AGREE THAT IT IS DEFECTIVE, they will be sending it back to you.

We do agree, I think, that the end result would have been that they would have denied your claim. But it had not gotten to that point yet.

It is a moot point because you were successful in your quest. And again, congratulations. I think they have lost a lot of business from potential customers. I'm not interested in purchasing anything from them, that's for sure.

I'm really pleased it worked out in the end, though you should not have had to jump through so many hoops. I think many of us will think twice before considering doing business with Classic Shaving.

I'm glad you saw this whole thing through. I've heard nothing but bad things about these people.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad you got this resolved in the end. This must be some of the worst publicity they have ever gotten.

If anyone knows, maybe you can publish hear the websites that are connected with this company so we can avoid purchasing anything from them through any of their other websites. This just sounds like a really bad company in general.

On the other hand, I'm thrilled with the good providers that we have in this industry. ATT, Timeless, Blackland, Colonial Razors, Grooming Dept shave soap, Stirling, CRSW and so many more. These ( and I know I'm missing many here) show us that it is 100% possible to maintain a loyal and excited customer base.

no worries. some of these vendors hate the shaving blogs, forums and facebook groups because we keep them honest. I had a CEO of a shaving company admit this to me when I had a personal phone call with him over some issues I had with their product in the past..

Ahhh sunlight. Air it out.

I'm still in disbelief how they shipped it to you. That says something about how they fundamentally operate.
