I am not an administrator, but in this forum you can post information anywhere you like. Admins will give you a vendor thread.
And your response is really appreciated.

How difficult are we looking in regards to getting a brush this weekend? Are we talking sold out in second?

We just make the brushes and put them up in the shop. There isn't any inside game.

It's nice to sell out, but I think we're finally in a position to sustain more regular output. So I'm hoping prospective buyers will be more patient and wait for what they want, which should take some of the pressure off releases.

Does anyone know whether or not Paladin's to be released brushes use TGN knots? The brushes look lovely, but I have enough brushes with TGN knots.

Ted

We use our Twitter and Facebook pages to alert those who follow us of updates on the site. Unfortunately, the FeedBurner subscripton feature on Shopify doesn't work for most, including us (since Google discontinued support).

It will only take a few hours to upload the photos, during which the site will be down. We'll post an update with date and time on the day before the launch. We don't do it this way to create suspense. It's just how it works out for us.

If someone on the admin/mod team wants to send me an email and offer guidance, that would be great. We really aren't out to advertise, but we also don't want to leave members here in the dark.

hey Ken,

you're account is set up to create a merchants thread if you'd like: https://damnfineshave.com/thread-sticky-...guidelines

feel free to talk about your brushes in threads on the forum if someone inquires about them! we enjoy the merchant - community interaction on this forum and we definitely won't be labeling you a shill or anything like that.

They absolutely do not use TGN knots, rather their own specially sourced ones.

No. We circulated updates via email up until just before the website launch in March. By mid-last year there were about 500 people on our mailing list. Trying to manage emails killed my productivity in the shop. I sucked at keeping up with emails, and having them pile up sucked much of the joy out of this venture for me. The more emails I answered, the more I'd have at the end of a day. Didn't work; not going back to that.

We've never used TGN knots. See https://www.paladinshaving.com/pages/knot-notes.

We spent over six months last year evaluating samples and working with the supplier we finally selected to nail down specifications. That included in-person meetings. The work to refine quality and improve consistency has continued. A few weeks ago one of the co-founders/owners of the company traveled from China to KS to spend two solid days with us going through knots (many of which I had cut in half) and discussing issues. In follow-up the supplier sent us a long (over three printed pages) email detailing the plan to better meet our requirements. That includes selecting, dedicating, and differently rewarding specific workers to make our knots. I plan to to travel to China next year to visit the production facility and meet with the supervisor and workers.

Thanks for the information guys. It makes a difference to me. I have so many brushes that I do not want more of the same. I will check for the announcements.
Cheers,
Ted
