I picked up some GD soap and pre/post shave product recently. The stuff works really well with the GD soap so I figured I’d give it a go with non-GD soaps. Well, itworks as well with other soaps too. I used the pre-shave with Krampert’s Finest Bay Rum soap this morning. I still consider KFBR a decent soap but the GD pre-shave supercharged it. Lavender scent may have interfered with the scent a little but not badly. So if you’ve got some old favourites lying around that aren’t getting used as much because they don’t quite measure up to the latest greatest, get some of the GD pre-shave and boost those venerable old soaps Happy2

I agree, GD pre-shaves bost performance of not so great soaps. I found that Lavender scent doesn't interfere with soap scents much.

That's exactly how I've been using my GD pre-shave. Works like a champ!

I'm using it with every soap I have. Great product! I have the unscented version.

That was a weakness to my thoughts. Mo essentially has facilitated soap competitors by giving them properties approaching his soaps via the preshave. No way to prevent this if entering the business but pricing should reflect it externally cannibalizes sales.

But long and short is agreed it enhances even bad soaps.

Hell using competitive soaps infrequently whilst using GD soaps on most days has a similar effect with the residual benefits from the GD masking.

It’s Mo’s gift to the shaving world. That being said, while the pre-shave improves all soaps, it doesn’t necessarily improve them so as to be indistinguishable from the pre-shave paired with GD soap. That’s next order stuff. Really good Happy2

Great idea. I have a few soaps that could use the extra help. I've given up on many of them cause I've been spoiled by the products I have been using lately. This would certainly make them usable again just so I could thin the den and replace with the ones that worked well for me.

DanLaw I don't see it as a weakness, at least for me, it only made me like the GD brand even more.

Yes, it is incredibly effective, and not just with Grooming Dept soaps. It is also amazingly cost effective.

Excellent product. I have the Eucalyptus Spearmint and love it. The scent reminds me of Wrigley's Spearmint gum. I don't feel that the scent interferes with the subsequent soap scent at all in any instance. The performance is unreal and, as HighSpeed points out (cost effective), a little bit goes a long way. I now use it every time I shave.

The GD preshave is fantastic, probably the coolest thing I've tried in years!!
