lol.  Well to be honest I've been home all week and I'm a little bored.  I've since edited but I had a little ramble on cell phones as well. Smile
If you have a little time for reading, I highly recommend this thread posted by churchilllafemme   Its excellent

Thanks Marko I'll definitely give it a read. John posts some nice smelling fragrances. I do have some bottles kicking around from years ago and I used to like to peruse on Basenotes but I have lost a bit of interest in frags since the restrictions were implemented. Still decent scents to be found so the thread might spark my interest again.

I have to apologize to Gerard and Jonathan of the Lather Talk podcast.  In my original post in this thread I said that I was underwhelmed by the podcast, however, being a fair minded person I decided to try listening to a few other episodes.  I found the episode featuring Sri Ram of Wholly Kaw to be excellent.  It was informative and quite interesting.  Sri is an amazing person and Gerard was a great interviewer  - some podcasts feature the host talking about a topic like Mike Rowe on The Way I Heard it or Mo Rocca on Mobituaries and others feature the host interviewing interesting people - Lather Talk is like the second kind (mostly) so its important that the host ask the right questions but most important is that the guest do most of the talking, after all that's why they're there.  Gerard pulls this off very well.  I also listened to the episode where Jonathan interviews Will Carius of Barrister & Mann and that one was very well done too.  I've learned a ton about Sri and Wholly Kaw and Will and B&M as well.  So again, apologies to Lather Talk, I spoke too soon and too harshly.  I'm not prepared to listen to any more episodes of the Shaving Tulsan at this time because he came across as a bitter disillusioned guy and I don't need that in my life at this time  Tongue

Hey Marko, Jon from Lather Talk here! Thanks for checking out our podcast and you and others are obviously entitled to your own opinion, but I also appreciate you checking out additional episodes in light of your initial impressions.  I'm glad you enjoyed the interview with Will and Sri, they were definitely GREAT to talk to and I think you hit the nail on the head in how you described our interviewing style for those episodes.

Hi Jon, yeah sorry about the snap judgement and I have no problem admitting when I am wrong - I was wrong.  I think I was in a grumpy mood - there had been some discussion on DFS about the whole flipping/BST thing so it was a touchy subject.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I happen to fall on the free market side of the discussion although I will acknowledge that certain conduct, while totally legit, can be inappropriate.  I saw that you had an episode with Sri and another with Will, two of my favourite artisans so I figured what the heck. I'm glad I did as both podcasts were really good.  Again, I apologize for my precipitous judgement.

I really like the long form discussion format that you use - some directed questions and then generally a whole lot of free form discussion that goes wherever it goes.  I listen to several podcasts that  use this format - Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Dave Rubin and a few others - people that use the long form discussion format and can really dive deeply into subject matter as well as some more focused podcasts like Art of Manliness, Hardcore History and now, yours.  Product reviews are all well and good but these sorts of podcasts are what capture my attention.

I encourage yo to keep doing your podcast despite the occasional flak you might get.

dominicr you can find the podcast by entering "lather Talk" in the search window at apples Podcast App - the little purple box with a double circled I on your iPhone desktop - if you're android I can't help you - I assume its similar though.  Podcasts are amazing - tons of free content.
Thanks,
Mark

dominicr: You can find Lather Talk on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and pretty much all major podcast providers.

I also post a video version on my YouTube page, Latherhog. Hope you get a chance to check it out, which ever format works best for you!

dominicr, if you are using an Android device, you can search Lather Talk on the Stitcher app.

BTW, I used to listen to the Brush n Soap n Blade podcast with Rick Deweese (sp?). I started at the beginning and was making my way through the series but the last episode was on Nov 15, 2018. Does anyone know why he quit podcasting? It did seem like the podcast was becoming more of a chore than a hobby for him. But it seems even more unlikely he wouldn't do a farewell podcast if he decided to call it quits. I certainly hope everything is ok with him.

He said a few episodes before his last that he was running out of things to talk about and that he no longer looked forward to doing the show. Then he took about 3 weeks off, did one more show, and then... nothing. I miss that show too. I sometimes go back and listen to old episodes just to hear him again. He was a very good-natured and affable fellow.
