Great razor....It's very mild...Almost too mild for me. I use when I am in a hurry

Depends on the angle you use I guess, some folks may use more angle causing the plate to actually touch the skin and soap. But other than that I think another way the soap passes, and which I think this was the primary goal in this design is that you use the buffering technique which causes the soap to be pushed back and forth through the combs. At any rate, its not much science behind it, I just know it works :-)

I have the 34C and the Tech, to me the DOC is milder then both of them

Its too far on the mild side for me.

The PAA DOC razor is the finest business travel razor IMO. I agree with the consensus that this razor is very, very mild. It is very difficult to nick yourself with it and with a Personna Lab Blue or Astra SP blade this razor gives me effortless BBS shaves without any bleeders.

1.) small size; + 2.) difficult to nick yourself and make yourself look like an amateur to your client; + 3.) easy BBS shave = Perfect razor for business travel

This razor does a fine job.  My major gripe is that the construction is cheap.  It is the lightest weight razor I own, and that's by far.  Further, I wondered why the headpiece was so oddly configured with those very very deep spaces between the teeth.  Does it serve a valuable purpose?  I think that the deeply cut teeth obviate the need for more headpiece metal.  I really think this cute, funky design was another way to hold down costs.

It is a good razor but it will not become a favorite.  Interested in cheap, efficient open comb?  Go Parker 24C or 26 or RR Rake [same head as the Parkers].

Update: I used the head combined with a relatively weighty black Cadet handle and it gave a great result.

Just received mine in the mail and I got an excellent shave off of it.  I did swap out the handle for a maggard stainless steel, but the combo gave a BBS the first time around.  Beginning to wonder if technique more than hardware gives the BBS.  Will try a flat rock and see if I get the same result, but I give the latest BBS to the double OC.
