Hi everyone,

We thought you might like to know that on 1st February we'll be launching our Kickstarter campaign.

It'll run for 30 days and its central reward is built around the introduction of our new organic vegan shaving soap formula. That and our organic vegan face soap (and because we know some folk will probably want it, our lovely tallow formula, too). We'll also be offering shave-den artwork and, time permitting, maybe one or two other rewards.

We've gone for a rich fougere profile that we've called 'Britannia' and each of the soaps will be scented with this accord.

In support of our main products we've collaborated with three UK artisans, namely Mervyn Cadman (of Cadman brushes), Ross Giles (of Giles Shaving Co) and Matt and Andreya Townsend (of Vida Vida).

To give you a flavour of what we've asked for; Mervyn is working on a bespoke PB liveried black & gold 30mm synthetic tuxedo brush, Ross is developing a similar black & gold glazed shaving bowl (also PB liveried) and Vida Vida will be providing us with exquisite leather wash bags that will be stamped / embossed with our logo and Kickstarter code (I'll post images as I receive them).

These, along with the Britannia profile and artwork, will all be one off, never to be done again products.

A bit about the why we're doing this..

We are launching this Kickstarter in order to grow. And by "grow" I mean to be able to buy industrial grade, professional soap and cosmetic making equipment. We will use the funds to purchase immersion blenders, induction heating systems, moulding systems, soap cutting apparatus, curing rack systems, a new packaging set-up and several other smaller soap making ancillaries.

All of these will allow us to permanently introduce new product lines, e.g. the above described organic and vegan based shaving soap, botanical aftershaves, organic vegan face soap, etc. It will also allow us to work more efficiently and in a larger volume.

Our current (and outgoing) studio setup does not allow us to produce the full range of products that we would like to offer. If we were able to make these upgrades to our operational capability, we would be able to expand our current lines with more options, create new products and make larger production runs to meet an ever growing demand.

That’s why we are asking for your help through our Kickstarter, we can’t grow without your support.

If you'd like to register your interest please drop me an email via kerry@phoenixandbeau.uk

Equally, if you've any questions at all, please feel free to ask.

Yours very excitedly,

Kerry.

This looks like a great idea - I know there have been some very successful Kickstarters out there - Rockwell for example.

Hi everyone,

Here's a glimpse of the prototype for our 30mm synthetic on bespoke black & antique gold resin handle (each will have its own slight idiosyncrasies due to being hand turned by a human and not a machine) . Mr Cadman is a wonder to work with, for sure Smile

We're finalising the artwork for the circular disc that will be set in to each base. I'll share more images once I've received it.

At the moment we're looking to offer 50 of them and an additional 25 that will only be obtainable as part of our complete 'reward' set. Firmer detail and confirmation of cost will be finalised for the 1st February launch.

Any questions or queries, please share.

Kind regards,

Kerry.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Kerry, absolutely top notch video. Love it. A nice, down to earth vibe that I find hard to describe but compelling. I was backing this campaign even before I saw the video because of the first rate products but now I'm even more stoked about it. Happy2

Thanks,
Mark
