Interesting Moriarty , however, if thats what they were trying to do there are probably easier, better ways to do it.  PP has given a whole lot of former customers and probably a lot of people wha are still customers because they see no alternative a reason to actively seek alternatives.  A competitor will undoubtedly step in with a solution.  Why a company would go out of their way to give generally happy customers a reason to look elsewhere is beyond me.  Their only competitive advantage has been the fact that they were essentially first in the space.  Any company can replicate the business model, service etc.  Their business can evaporate overnight.  The only reason it hasn't is that there isn't a truly viable option but how long will that last?  I suppose we'll see.

Maybe, but not banks. Financial institutions generally don’t care about politics, unless it restricts their ability to make money. Politics just isn’t in their culture, in my experience.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

anyone using CashApp? I had to wait a week to get their debit card. Now I need to add cash to the debit card. Tried a 7-11 but their machine was down. I guess I'll try at Walgreens tomorrow. Seller accepts only CashApp.

National Cappuccino day? (Nov 8th)

Certainly not election day. Not in the US anyway.

I've been upset with the whole PAYMENT SITUATION for months. I closed my ebay account (Of MANY Years) after getting a 1099 form last year. I have closed my PayPal account, BUT had to re-open due to the LACK of alternatives. Fortunately, I have most of my receipts of purchases (Which I had to use for the aforementioned ebay 1099 form), which helps, BUT I really am upset regarding the whole situation and ALL the complications now involved.
Only positive is that it has made me REALLY consider any future purchases!

Regarding Politics, just remember which administration was in charge when all these (and MANY other) needless 'Complications'  became a part of our lives on election day!

agreed. The 1099-K change in reporting was part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 which included $14 billion for COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Not a single member of a certain party voted for it.

The fact that there’s so few (none) reasonable alternatives to PP tells you that there isn’t enough money in it. If there were I’d expect there to be competition.

There’s Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, Google Pay, Apple Pay… probably more that I’m not thinking of.
There are numerous options, but none that makes everybody happy. And I think that can be said about pretty much anything, the reality (unfortunate or not) is that we can’t get everything to work just the way we want and at the same time expect it to be free.
