Well it is time to join the journal section on DFS. I have kept a journal before and I really enjoyed it. I liked reading and seeing what other members use for their shaves which would influence my AD’s (my wife is not a fan of this...).
A few reasons I enjoy keeping a journal is I always have a reference to go back to on particular products. If something wasn’t right or off a little bit I can see what I may have done differently in the past. I also enjoy the input from other members if they have had success using products differently than I am currently using them.
I hope you all enjoy my journal and I hope to see y’all in the comments or your own journal!

This was a long awaited shave. My little brother really loved the scent of Dragonsbeard and he has been getting into the hobby, so I let him have my DB V1 soap and splash since I knew this was going to be released. So for about 2 months I was without this scent, but the wait was totally worth it. This is my favorite scent of any soap I have tried and now it is in my personal favorite soap base. Frank’s products are incredible, and if you have not tried them yet I strongly encourage you to! His soaps can take on a ton of water and the lather is very versatile. The slickness is fantastic, and post-shave feel without any other product is unlike anything I have used before!
Frank’s soaps paired with his post-shave products really do make ETHOS stand apart from other brands (personal opinion). I am trying out his Remedè oil based post-shave and it is the first oil based product that has not left my face feeling greasy. Combine that with his SFS and Replenish, and my face feels soft, supple, and hydrated. Fantastic job Frank!

This was another fantastic soap to use. I won’t get into the base too much as I already did that with my previous post.
The scent of this soap is another winner from Frank. This will definitely be used a lot in December, but the cooling agent will also make this soap a summertime treat. My wife smelled this and immediately asked if we could start decorating the house for Christmas. Unfortunately for her, I have a strict “not before Thanksgiving” rule. The only issue I have is I now need to find a good cologne to pair with this soap and splash, so if any of y’all have any recommendations I would appreciate it!

Yes, I do have other soaps besides ETHOS soaps, but since I received my order from Frank this weekend, I am using all my ETHOS soaps. Really love this scent. I know nearly every artisan has come out with a Creed Aventus clone, but Frank’s is more appealing to me. I do like Stirling’s and M&M’s, but Frank’s is more pineapple forward, and to me that is what the other clones are missing. I am also excited to have the EDP so the scent is now complete from soap to splash to fragrance!
Thank you DFS for reading my journal and I hope y’all had a great day!

Great shaves Pat! I really want to order Dragonbeard V2, but I’m afraid I might get murdered in my sleep. Confused

It is a fantastic scent and it is seasonal. I can send you a sample if you’d like!

On the matter of Christmas decorations waiting until after thanksgiving, I would advise your wife to employ a loophole. Should it wait until after “the” American thanksgiving or could it proceed after “a” thanksgiving? The Canadian thanksgiving is in October so Christmas decorations can get in full swing anytime after that. We put up our outdoor Christmas lights last week and they will be going on after Remembrance Day/Veterans Day. I was actually happy to get the outdoor lights up in good weather because usually it’s dang cold when we do it.

That is a great loophole that I hope my wife never realizes. I did catch her watching Christmas movies already the other day.
