I'm still learning my Paradigm SE but I wanted to leave some thoughts for those of you might find them helpful. My prior SE razor experience was with an Occam and a Colonial General aluminum. I really like the General. I read such good reviews about the SE that I thought I would give it a try. As for looks, I am sort of on the fence. It is definitely a different look. That obviously is completely a your mileage may vary kind of thing. One thing that bothers me is the high polish. I've been wrestling with possibly brushing the finish on the razor. I much prefer a brushed look over high polish because I think the high polish looks a bit like plastic. Personally I like a tool to look like one. None of my other razors are high polish. I may end up brushing the handle and leaving the head polished and going for a two-tone look. I think that might look good. Another thing that bothers me about this razor that I don't think I can change is the square handle. That is taking a bit of getting used to. I'm used to round handles and the maneuverability I think is not made better by a square handle. I like being able to make fine adjustments with round handle as I'm shaving. Okay that's that. Now for the performance. The performance of this razor is very good and that is difficult to deny. I think it is better than the General. Is it 10 times better I don't know. However, it is definitely better. I tend to like more mild razors and this razor will deliver on that front. Out of curiosity, and because of the recommendations of many, I put a Feather Super in it. Rather surprisingly I really like the performance of the razor with feather super. It probably delivered one of the best shaves I've ever had. That's really saying something. So, if you're on the fence about picking up this razor, you should do so before the last few are gone. It does have a few issues that aren't perfect for me, but at the end of the day, the performance is very very good.
