Excellent first impression Gus. For me a Proline upped the efficiency but did not sacrifice the smoothness. For your second point I wholeheartedly agree. I don’t need a leather box like OneBlade but put the box in a shipping box please.

Gus, I don't believe you are over-exaggerating your disbelief in how the razor come delivered, especially, considering its price.
I would not have thought it will be sent like this, as well, and I am quite surprised.

Celestino, my friend I truly was not expecting something of this caliber to be shipped as an afterthought. This was simply very poorly thought out and executed to be honest. But, I will say that once I emailed Andy over at Paradigm, he did respond quite quickly and courteously and said that he would have this issue addressed. Again, I can’t stress enough that it has NOTHING to do with the presentation or such. Just the manner in which the product was prepared and delivered. Left much to be desired.........

First review based on just one use with a Kai Titan Mild.

Remember this is my experience.

1. Quality/Build: very good/great, not excellent - some tooling marks and residual signs too, not polished to a real mirror finish (Wolfman or Stork for example) - 'mechanism' is not so much fluid or intuitive;

2. Smoothness: probably the smoothest razor ever tried - similar to Paradigm Ti. II and Karve or Asylum RX polished, yet smoother;

3. Blade Feeling: extremely, too mild - never tried one so much mild before - the mildest razor ever - milder than Guerilla SB;

4. Efficiency: (very thick hair here) three whole passes - mild/medium territory;

5. Angle: I asked to Andy what is the angle like? He said huge - I can't agree with him - it's narrow, but intuitive;

6. General point of view:

The razor itself is not well made within the details. Is it worth the price ($400)? Not in my opinion. Price should reflect the build quality which is not in the elite league of razors.
Regarding the shave, Paradigm, as I said before, is an extremely mild and extremely maneuverable razor. You can do passes and passes while you can't cut yourself. Perhaps you could get a little bit of irritation by this way. Is this boring? Not at all. Why should I prefer what I could call gaming cut? 'Oh I'd like to see if this razor cuts me'. Nosense. A joke: I'd be able to use it while I'm driving and getting to my office, for example.
The handle reminds me a lot to the Cobra Classic one, yet with a better grip and feeling in my hand.
The head is not cumbersome, but it could be not so easy to use under the nose or near the ears.
As for shave impression-feeling I can say that this Paradigm doesn't remind me to a SE razor. I have to be honest with you: it seems to be a cartridge during the shave, yet with a sharper and smoother blade inside. Maybe due to its smoothness.
As for my past own experience with Paradigm, this one too gets some difficulty in the first pass (WTG), while is very interesting in the second pass (ATG). The angle is intuitive in WTG, less intuitive in ATG. I don't consider XTG because we all have two hair directions only (face/head mapping is very important).

I'm glad I ordered from Bullgoose Shaving. The original blue box is a disappointment, but that was a 'known quantity', BUT it was shipped in an actual cardboard box, and shipped quickly!
I've three shaves and am still trying different blades and finding the best blade will take a while. I like aggressive blades in my DE (Feather), but found the Feather AC Pro SUPER
to have much more blade feel than the Feather Pro, P-30, and Kamisori I have used so far, and found it rather 'rough'.

I ordered directly from Paradigm as well and my package was sent from the fulfillment center in Illinois. Mine though was sent inside another small shipping box and not a shipping envelope. It sounds like the variable is the fulfillment center. Hopefully they can get the consistency on track here.

Folks, it is the outer mailer. I use a fulfillment service, requested USPS Priority Service, and was unaware of the mailer they are using. I thought it would go in USPS Priority box. Gus did indeed bring this to my attention, but it is a holiday weekend. I will get on it first thing tomorrow. I'm not trying to save a buck here.

It’s tough when fulfillment happens in a different time zone from you though, Andy.

I tried a fresh Feather Super for this morning's shave. Yikes, did it ever bite this morning. 2 weepers on my lower lip area and lots of irritation today. I will give a few more shaves to see if it smoothes out.

The Feather Professional was very smooth. Not so today with the Super.

I tried the Feather Super blade again today. Today was a bit better. I did a 2.5 pass shave. It felt a bit tuggy on the second pass. Pretty solid DFS but the post shave revealed a bit of irritation again.

I think the Supers are out for me. I will have to play with the Feather Professionals and Schick Prolines to see which is my favorite. I may return to a fresh Super one day to see if that makes any difference.

Mine came from bullgoose and was packed well imo.

The shave is, in a word, amazing. The finish needs a lot of help imo. To me the polish is adequate, but the precision of maintaining straight lines while polishing is a major issue on this razor. The are sections are the top cap and base plate where the material was polished into rounded lines. It’s kind of a bummer for a top priced razor but the shave, as previously mentioned, is incredible.
